Pascal Quignard Pascal Quignard is the author of masterly works mixing meditation, poetry and fragment. To date he has published some fifty books and his Les Ombres Errantes (Grasset, 2002), a title borrowed from François Couperin) and the first volume in a vast project entitled Dernier Royaume, was crowned by the Goncourt Prize in 2002. One of the more recent works published by Pascal Quignard, Boutès, published by Editions Galilée, proposes a treatise on dance. The character Boutès (a figure from Greek mythology who responds to the sirens’ call), is joined by the diver of Paestum (from an ancient fresco in Italy symbolizing the leap into the unknown or into death). The dancer is seen to be the most legitimate figure in the creative act, embodying movement, with the body stretching towards a precise point in space, and abandon.
Alain Mahé Improvised electro-acoustic and electronic music. A tenor and soprano saxophonist, he studied jazz and improvised music at the Institute of Art, Culture and Perception in Paris. He took Christian Villeneuve’s electro-acoustic and electronic composition class at the CNR in Nantes and took part in the electronic and computer music workshops at the GMEA in Albi (Thierry Besche, Didier Brisson), in the workshops of the Arles University of Radiophony (Lucien Bertolina, GMEM Marseille) and the IRCAM summer school in 1998 (Jonathan Harvey, Gérard Grisey). He was also a member of the IRCAM Forum (1994/2001-2010). He collaborates regularly with Jean François Pauvros, Joseph Nadj, Carlotta Ikeda, Ko Murobushi, François Verret, Hervé Diasnas, the Forman brothers…
