Giving Back in Support of a ’Profitable Education’
During the Campaign for Mihaylo College, alumnus Jae Estrada ’06 MBA, contributed both a
bronze tile and an orange tree for the new building complex. “It wasn’t about buying the tile or
the tree,” says Estrada. “It was more about giving back to the institution that gave me a profitable
education.” Estrada is currently an investment manager for the Family Wealth Group of Wells
Fargo. While working on his MBA, Estrada was part of the graduate student team that won the
silver medal at the national SBI case competition in 2006, and he co-wrote a paper with Zvi
Drezner, professor of ISDS, on formulating random variable simulations with spreadsheet
software for classrooms. Estrada believes strongly that alumni support for Mihaylo College
boosts the reputation of the college and the value of his diploma, and he says: “My hope is that
my gift is helping the right people to work harder, smarter and better than anyone else.”
