The Institute of Organic Farming is part of the German Federal Research Institute
of Rural Areas, Fishery and Forestry. The science based development of
the “Organic Farming of Tomorrow” is the function of the research institute.
The main focus is on organic animal husbandry and the comparison with
stockless farming. About 100 employees (30 scientists) are involved in the
experimental acitivities.
