Nursing for Spinal Cord Injury and Rehabilitation Programs at the James
A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida, the first VA hospital to
achieve national recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center (ANCC) for Magnet Nursing Services. Ms Doloresco has 29 years
of nursing experience, including 19 years in nursing management and
administration.

02459-3210, is currently Director of Compliance Programs with Environmental
Health and Engineering in Newton, Massachusetts. He is retired
from the faculty and his previous position as the Director of the Environmental
Health and Safety Department at the University of Massachusetts
Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He has consulted to a wide
range of American industries and government agencies and authored numerous
publications on the subjects of ergonomics and environmental
health and safety. He has delivered many presentations on the subject
of application of ergonomics to the healthcare industry. He has worked
with the Patient Safety Center in Tampa, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration (OSHA), and the National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health (NIOSH) on safe patient handling issues. His
book, Ergonomics: How to Contain On-the-Job Injuries in Healthcare,
has been published and is being distributed by the Joint Commission on
Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
John D. Lloyd, PhD, MErgS, CPE, Associate Director, Technology
Innovations Division, VISN8 Patient Safety Center, James A. Haley
Veterans’ Hospital, Tampa, Florida serves as Director of the Research
Laboratories and Associate Director of the Technology Division at the
VISN8 Patient Safety Research Center in Tampa. John has served on
multiple research projects, focusing on the prevention of musculoskeletal
disorders through biomechanical evaluation and development of
engineering solutions. He has recently been working on the development
of a whole-body biomechanical model for analysis of dynamic human
motion. This new technology has been utilized to describe the biomechanical
stressors acting on upper extremity joints in persons with paraplegia
during independent transfers.
