Setting the Table for the Future
Our “100 Reasons to Celebrate” party in April gave us
all a chance to consider the many reasons why we love
our membership here at the ACC, and to cement our
commitment to the future of this wonderful Club.
Over the past year we have embraced change (new venture
with the Columbus Country Club,) honored our past
(nomination to the National Register,) and celebrated our
present (Tuesday Trivia, Martinis and Mistletoe, chili cookoff,
anyone?) We realize the importance of sustaining this
vitality in to the next 100 years.
To keep us on track as we head in to the future, a group of
loyal members volunteered for a very big project last Fall.
In three sessions with a facilitator, these members devised
a strategic plan to set the table for the Club for at least the
next three years.
The strategic plan focuses on four key areas: Member
Recruitment and Retention; Facility; Financial Health;
Service Delivery and Staff Development. This plan is
intended to be a living document that is “owned” by the
ACC House Committee, which will review and revise on a
regular basis. The strategic plan also helps guide the Club’s
operating and facility plans.
Each key area was further developed through goal-setting
and specific recommendations to make these goals
achievable. The members who helped craft the strategic
plan represented a wide spectrum of demographics as well
as a wide spectrum of Club usage. Blending these diverse
thoughts gives us a very well-rounded plan. Thank you to
these members who assisted in this very important process:
Mike Becker, Tom Betti, Melissa Black, Mark Blumenthal,
jim coleman, chris conley, lisa dePerio, heather Dixon,
Guy ford, beth hansen, Ted inbusch, bill Keller,
susan Kessel, Greg lashutka, laura mazzarino,
Brendan O’Neill, Joe Patrick, George Ruff, Dan Sharpe,
Carla Sokol, Mark Swepston, Jeff Wolf
If you would like to view a copy of the Club’s strategic plan,
please contact ashley chaney in the third floor Executive
Office.
Together with the strategic plan, we are considering our
current governance system. Board member joe Patrick
has done a fantastic job of guiding a group of volunteers
through this investigative process, and we expect to have
recommendations from this
group on how to improve our
current system and maximize
member involvement. If you
are interested in joining a
Committee to help guide our
Club, please contact marte
Executive Office.
Let’s continue to celebrate
our membership through this
Centennial year, and we ask
for your help in guiding us
into the next 100!
in 1987...
