Sending and Receiving Money in Thailand<br />

You may need to send money to someone in Thailand, or even<br />

to yourself. Due to advance technology in the banking industry,<br />

sending a small amount of money– less then 10,000 US dollars,<br />

to Thailand is easy. Banks in Thailand do not use an International<br />

Bank Account Number (IBAN); instead, they used SWIFT<br />

coding system for bank transaction. Here are some methods<br />

used to send money to Thailand:<br />

• Via Western Union. Many people fi nd this convenient,<br />

cheap and fast. This service is very useful in emergency<br />

cases; it is a retail money transfer with no bank account<br />
