This is one in a series I painted of paper birches. In the Killarney area I discovered forests of birch trees standing together one<br />

ever whiter and taller than the next. It was splendid seeing them grow en masse for rarely does one see this expanse. Because<br />

of what they are and represent, they made me laugh on route<br />
