KIG Member: ‘During our project we
have exchanged information, pictures
about our joint activities in our web
pages and by email. But it has been
mostly meant for our own project
members. One part of that reporting has
been added to SEED pages, Comenius
gallery and is therefore open for any
other projects.’

A Learning Network
The products produced and disseminated as a result of SEED activities
have increased the reach of SEED work undertaken via conferences,
seminars and workshops. The wide dissemination of SEED products has
provided opportunities in assisting members in learning from other’s
experiences. This was strongly articulated in the information provided by
KIG (see Portfolio of Evidence section D).
The development of the publication Quality Criteria for Eco School
Development is an example of how SEED facilitates members to learn
from each other’s experiences. This report is a comparative study of
member countries of the explicit and implicit criteria underpinning EE in
schools in countries in order to develop an overall set of quality criteria.
The country reports were available for SEED members to access as
required prior to the publication date.

Summary of Learning Network
The SEED products reviewed by this evaluation have been successful in
assisting members in learning from others experience. Participants have
been able to learn new approaches to teaching, share experiences and
benefit from others experiences.
Dissemination
SEED provides all partners and members involved, especially government
agencies and departments, with the network results and encourages their
dissemination within their respective national educational systems. The
ICT was also intended to facilitate this dissemination amongst a broader
audience.
However in practice, some participants from Frascati (see PoE section E)
also noted that there were few opportunities to formally present and
share their school programs and achievements with all participants.
Whilst they had opportunities to share their experiences with their
immediate project team they felt that further dissemination was limited.
The ICT has also been underutilized as a tool for dissemination as initially
it was not widely publicised and participants did not have the skills or
time to update the site with their project information (see box).
Summary of Dissemination
SEED products have allowed for the dissemination of school development
projects across the partners and members of the network. The
dissemination of this work beyond the network has been limited by the
underutilization of the ICT.
