Programming Accomplishments Advancing the Discovery of Music Community support spurred KEXP’s efforts to champion music and discovery in 2007 and gave us the ability to invest in new initiatives, bringing more innovative music to the community than ever before. A radio station or website can be a wellspring of meaningful music. For many people, these are their only reliable sources for discovery. KEXP is that source for thousands upon thousands of listeners and users, and we take that special responsibility seriously. By artfully curating sets of music, providing helpful and meaningful experiences on our website and bringing people together to enjoy music, we can inform our community about the nuances of music genres, styles and lyrical content. In 2007, KEXP expanded and refined the programs and services listeners and users rely on every day while engaging in powerful new partnerships that will extend the ways people connect with the music they love. On the Air Each week of 2007, an average of 106,000 listeners tuned in to our 90.3FM radio signal and nearly 60,000 additional listeners tuned in online through KEXP.orG, itunes, eMusic and more, resulting in more listeners than ever before. KEXP DJs and producers created 98% of our music and public affairs programming in the KEXP studios.
