GOVERNOR
March 27, 2008
Dear Friends:
Welcome to the 28th Annual Governor's Arts Awards. I feel privileged to honor
this year's outstanding award recipients, all who symbolize the best of a creative
and engaged citizenry. Individually and collectively, their service to Nevada merits
the highest of public recognition.
Those honored this evening are genuinely dedicated to providing this great state
a rich cultural life. It will continue to take the collective efforts of all of us, whether
it be in the form of advocacy, education, funding or creating art, to ensure that
Nevada continues to be “rich in art.”
Dawn and I congratulate the recipients of the 28th Annual Governor's Arts
Awards - Sally Ahlstedt, Jim Burke, Bill Fain, Las Vegas Little Theatre, Candy and
Senator Mike Schneider, Mike Williams and Martina Young. Many thanks for your
extraordinary and valuable contributions to Nevada.
Best wishes for an enjoyable evening.
Sincerely,
Jim Gibbons
