She has directed productions as diverse as Search and Destroy, Darkside, Terra Nova and The Miracle Worker for theatres such as The Curtis, Huntington Beach Playhouse and Rude Guerrilla Theater Company, of which she was a member. She has also been Assistant Director for A View From the Bridge at South Coast Repertory. Sharyn is thrilled to be working with this fine and dedicated cast and crew in this challenging and innovative production of The Violet Hour. Special thanks to Stephen for his intelligent input. Jeanne Marie Valleroy, Stage Manager This is Jeanne’s second show here at Long Beach. She most recently stage managed for Betty’s Summer Vacation. She has also stage managed for The Seagul (Chance Theatre), Hair (Chance Theatre), The Girl, The Grouch and The Goat(Chance Theatre, West Coast Premier), and Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol (Chance Theatre). She would like to thank both the cast and Sharyn for making this such a great experience. She would also like to thank her mom for always supporting and believing in her and allowing her to “live her dreams”. Sean Gray (Gidger) Sean graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Theatre Arts Degree in Performance.He also has an AA in Theatre Arts from Orange Coast College and has been involved with the local theatre community for many years. Some of his credits include Noah Curry in the Rainmaker, George H. Jones in Machinal, Dr. Yakunin in The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow, Leon Czolgosz in Assassins, The Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest, and John Dickinson in 1776. Sean was last seen as Ken Talley in the playhouse’s production of Fifth of July. When not acting, he also enjoys writing and directing his own works. Sean would like to thank all of you for supporting local theatre in these hard economic times. We can’t do it without you. Thank you. Adam Hale (John) Adam was born in Oklahoma and has been living in California for the past 6 years. His first destination upon arriving in California was California State University Long Beach. He studied theatre and was active in the stage productions from 2004-2006. In the summer of 2006, he relocated to San Fernando Valley and finished up his degree at Cal State Northridge. Upon graduation he began pursuing another of his interests, massage therapy. He received his Certified Massage Therapist license in June of 2009. To keep active, and to fulfill his competitive side, he plays on the Orange County Bombers Australian Football team. And, when he’s not acting, massaging, or playing football, he pays the bills by bartending. He would like to thank his lovely girlfriend, Catherine, for supporting him in whatever it is he decides to pursue. And thank YOU, for coming to support our production! Alex Walters (Denny) Alex makes his Long Beach Playhouse debut in this lovely show. He has been seen at Rude Guerrilla in Love Song and the US premiere of Osama the Hero among other shows, and most recently as Henry Harry in Brilliant Traces at The Grand Central Arts Center. Alex can also be seen in the independent film “Rattle Basket” (which has garnered several film festival honors) and on television in numerous commercials. He is excited to finally be working with the talented miss Sharyn Case and is happy with the quality cast he is able to work with. Thanks for your support of the arts and enjoy the show! Doshanna Bell (Jessie) Doshanna is humbled and honored to be making her debut at the Long Beach Playhouse, with such an amazing cast. She is a recent graduate from The University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA and is so pleased to be performing once again in her home state. The story of the “Times” in this production has opened her eyes and added to the acceptance of her continual journey in life; she cherishes her triumphs and struggles. She dedicates her performance to the Violet Hour cast & crew, her family and friends. She applauds their continual support, endurance and ability to focus despite opposition. Caitlyn Tella (Rosamond) Caitlyn is delighted to be performing in The Violet Hour at Long Beach Playhouse. Previously, she has appeared on stage at A Noise Within, Playboy of the Western World and Richard III. Last summer, Caitlyn graduated from UCLA’s school of Theater, Film & TV where she performed in The Devils, Lysistrata, Beyond the Mountains, Keely & Du, and Swoop, among others. Caitlyn has also performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC in the original play House Full of Letters. BEHIND THE SCENES
