Open Google Chrome. Search for Songza. Enter site. Search for playlists. Click on
“Indie Yoga”. Hover over the play button. Click. Relax. It seems as if every week
is an intense struggle. A massive amount of priorities and deadlines arrive as we
move into our midterms. We are busy people. Yet with these weekly patterns
continuing, we are still involved, still pushing forward. I have a great appreciation
for those who are involved, but don’t spread yourselves too thin. Those individuals
who can run annual events, small teams and hold executive positions, my heart
goes out to you. Beedie Clubs help define our school. They allow us to express
ourselves through our own interests, collaborate with others and represent
Beedie. This issue of The Executive is dedicated to Beedie Clubs.
This is The Executive Magazine. As said in the past, we provide a variety of internal
and external articles. We have previously stated that this was our purpose for
existence. Our purpose was to develop a magazine with articles that Beedie
students would want to read. In a sense, that is part of it. Over the past couple of
weeks, I have been thinking about this magazine. Our purpose. Why are we here?
In my first note, I wrote, “My wish is to be in the line at Tim Hortons, and overhear
someone talking about an article they read in The Executive.” Looking back, that
is the purpose of The Executive. We aim to create meaningful dialogue within our
school.
Again, this issue is for clubs. All the work they put in to provide our studentbody
with an experience. One year of their lives go into a club. Sending emails,
recruiting, getting sponsors, marketing, taking care of finances and so much
more. This issue is dedicated to your hard work. Good luck with your events and
recruitment. Best wishes to your hand overs and transitions. Remember that you
placed an imprint within this school. Be proud of what you have accomplished.
Look back on these days in the future, and remember all that you have learned and
experienced. Congratulations.
We created The Executive for you.
