THE CITY OF LA LINEA stands at the southern end of the Ibe-
rian Peninsula, at the foot of one of the legendary Pillars of Hercules
that, in antiquity, marked the boundaries of the known world.
This vast sandy plain, just four meters above the sea level, is only
altered by small streams that run between the discrete heights of
Cerro Alto, Puerto del Higueron and Sierra Carbonera: which,
with its three hundred ten meters of hight, faces, from the north,
to the steep wall of the old gray Monte Calpe which rises at the
southern end of the term.
Two seas bath the coasts of the linense isthmus. To the west, the
waters of a providential bay whose prosperity has been exploited
by everyone who based its lifestyle on the sea. To the east, the open
sea with all its brave dynamic contrasts.
