ALUVA
For the Professed brothers at
Aluva, it was stress-less three
months since they went for a short
vacation after the first Semester
Exams early in the month of
October which was followed by a
week-refreshing Annual Retreat.
The month of Rosary was
celebrated with great devotion
with different devotional activities.
The professed brothers were committed to say
reflections in honor of Our Lady of Rosary at St.
Antony’s Shrine at Edacochin. Meanwhile Br.
Binu Y went to Spain to do his theological
studies at Our Institute at Valladolid.
Apart from Christmas, the month of December
witnessed another important celebration of the
Study House, Aluva. The Parents’ Day of the
Major Seminarians was celebrated on the 4 th
December 2008. The Parents’ Day began with
the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration in the
afternoon followed by a grand dinner in the
evening. The highlight of the Day was Cultural
Program organized by the professed brothers.
For the first time in the history of Study House,
the professed brothers staged a ‘Professional
Social Drama’ of Two hours which was a
thorough-fun-filled Comedy-entertainer. The
audience, which mostly set up with the parents,
parishioners and sisters of different
Congregations, had a high regard for the
professional and breathtaking performances of
the brothers. The Christmas celebrations also
were remarkable with the professed organizing
Christmas Carol for the Parishioners of Our
Parish at Aluva.
THALAPPUZHA
The Community of Thalappuzha had a quiet yet
graceful period from October to December. It
was a make-shift community over the last three
months because Fr. Jacob had to be absent
from the Community from September to
October as he was sent by the Delegation to
attend a Formation Course held in Spain.
Meanwhile Fr. Biju Paliyathayil who was
preparing to leave for Spain temporarily served
as the Parish Priest of St. Thomas Church at
Thalappuzha. Rosary Observance of October and
Christmas Celebration of December were the
highlight of this Period. Meanwhile Fr. Jacob
returned back from Spain after having
participated in the Formation Course in
December and Fr. Biju went to Spain.

The School Community at Pollachi had busy
and program-filled three-months. The School
Day celebration on November 5 th 2008 was the
most important program of this Period. The
Public Meeting with the distinguished political
and ecclesiastical leaders like Rt. Rev. Dr. M.
Thomas Aquinas, the Bishop of Diocese of
Coimbatore, was followed by the variety of
entertainments that were professionally
organized and meticulously executed by the
staff and the students of the School. The
students from our School went for some interschool
competitions like Yoga and Basketball
and won some prestigious prizes. Meanwhile Fr.
Xavier Kattikatt, the director of the School was
hospitalized and undergone a couple of
surgeries at a well-advanced Hospital at Cochin.
And he is expected to recover in good time.
Meanwhile the school was closed for Christmas
Vacation and students and staff went for
Christmas Celebrations.
