Permite confirmar la fase de la hepatopatía: esteatosis; elementos<br />
de esteatohepatitis (balonamiento de hepatocitos, cuerpos de M.,<br />
actividad inflamatoria); fibrosis; cirrosis.<br />
Estadificar la patología lo cual tiene valor pronóstico (estadios<br />
avanzados con laboratorio normal)<br />
Excluye otras etiologías.<br />
Diagnóstico de presunción sencillo.<br />
Riesgos de la punción (pacientes asintomáticos)
