04. BONDING MATERIALS<br />
The purpose of the bonding material or adhesive is to ensure that the tiles adhere fully to the tile-laying surface. A wi<strong>de</strong> range of adhesives<br />
is available.<br />
The EN 12004 standard classifies adhesives for ceramic products in the following manner:<br />
Division: Types. According to their chemical composition:<br />
> Cement adhesives (C).<br />
> Dispersion adhesives (D).<br />
> Reaction adhesives containing resins (R).<br />
Subdivision: Classes.<br />
Each type is subdivi<strong>de</strong>d into classes <strong>de</strong>pending on their specific characteristics, which are in turn divi<strong>de</strong>d into fundamental (1, 2) and<br />
optional (F, T, E) as follows:<br />
