Adjusting the Intonation
The intonation describes the correct ratio between
free oscillating length of an individual string (mensur)
and fret and bridge.
In order to control the intonation, compare the tone
of each string when played without being pressed
with the tone of the same string when played while
pressing in on the 12th fret.
If the tuning is correct, the gripped tone should be
one octave higher than the string played without
being gripped.
If the intonation is incorrect, the mensur of the respective
string must be adjusted. In this case, use a
suitable screwdriver and adjust the screws in the
bridge of the respective string (Fig. B).
Screw the screws in to lengthen the mensur, unscrew
the screws to shorten the mensur.
Then tune the string and control the intonation
again. It may need to be repeated several times for
all the strings.
Note: The guitar is set-up correctly on leaving the
factory. Only change these settings when you have
sufficient knowledge. Contact a specialist, if necessary.
Adjusting the Neck
The neck of the guitar is equipped with a truss rod.
This keeps the neck in shape and provide the counterforce
to the strings. Unfavourable environmental
influences, such as frequent temperature changes,
can cause the guitar neck to warp.
In such cases, the neck can be readjusted using the
truss rod.
To do this, use a suitable Allen key and adjust the
neck carefully at the truss rod hole (Fig. C).
Note: The guitar is set-up correctly on leaving the
factory. Only change these settings when you have
sufficient knowledge. Contact a specialist, if necessary.
Cleaning and Servicing
Attention: Always disconnect the cable between
the guitar and amplifier before starting any cleaning
work. Otherwise, it could lead to an electric shock.
Only clean the guitar with special care products for
musical instruments, such as guitar polish.
Only use soft, lint-free cloths for the cleaning work.
The use of rough cloths or other cleaning aids can
lead to irreparable paint and functional damage.
Note: Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents.
Do not use any chemicals (e.g. benzine, alcohol)
for cleaning purposes.
