Report From EXFILNA 2012<br />
EXFILNA 2012 was held in the city <strong>of</strong> Calahorra in the<br />
Rioja region <strong>of</strong> Spain, from October 6 to 13. ICPS members<br />
attending the show from the United States were <strong>Ernesto</strong><br />
<strong>Cuesta</strong> and his wife Laura María Herrera and Dan Chaij,<br />
Secretary <strong>of</strong> ICPS. Attending members from Spain were<br />
Fernando Aranaz <strong>de</strong>l Río, Presi<strong>de</strong>nt <strong>of</strong> FESOFI, and Jesús<br />
Sitjá Prats.<br />
In addition four <strong>of</strong> our new members joined our society<br />
during EXFILNA 2012. They are Maydolin Echemendía<br />
Carbajal who specializes in <strong>Cuban</strong> revenues, postal history,<br />
traditional philately, and topicals; Miguel Puigrefagut<br />
Comello, who specializes in <strong>Cuban</strong> colonial philately;<br />
Agustín Alberto <strong>de</strong> León, who specializes in Cuba up to<br />
1907, including the stampless period; and Eduardo Escalada<br />
Goicochea, who specializes in <strong>Cuban</strong> postal forgeries,<br />
town cancellations, and philatelic literature. Please join us<br />
in welcoming them into our society. With their inception<br />
into the ICPS our membership rises to 107 members, with<br />
68 members residing in the United States and 39 in other<br />
countries, including 17 members in Spain.<br />

Informe <strong>de</strong> EXFILNA 2012<br />
La EXFILNA 2012 se celebró en la ciudad <strong>de</strong> Calahorra en<br />
la región <strong>de</strong> la Rioja <strong>de</strong> España, <strong>de</strong>l 6 al 13 <strong>de</strong> octubre. De la<br />
SFCI asistieron a la exhibición <strong>de</strong>s<strong>de</strong> los Estados Unidos los<br />
miembros <strong>Ernesto</strong> <strong>Cuesta</strong> y su esposa Laura María Herrera<br />
y Dan Chaij. De España asistieron Fernando Aranaz <strong>de</strong>l<br />
Río, Presi<strong>de</strong>nte <strong>de</strong> FESOFI, y Jesús Sitjá Prats.<br />
Cuatro nuevos miembros para la Sociedad durante<br />
la exhibición. Los cuatro nuevos miembros son Maydolin<br />
Echemendía Carbajal, que se especializa en fiscales, historia<br />
postal, filatelia tradicional y colecciones temáticas; Miguel<br />
Puigrefagut Comello, que se especializa en filatelia cubana<br />
colonial; Agustín Alberto <strong>de</strong> León, que colecciona Cuba<br />
hasta 1907, incluyendo el período pre-filatélico; y Eduardo<br />
Escalada Goicochea, que se especializa en falsos postales,<br />
cancelaciones <strong>de</strong> pueblos, y literatura filatélica. Exten<strong>de</strong>mos<br />
una calurosa acogida a estos nuevos miembros <strong>de</strong> nuestra<br />
sociedad.<br />

The ICPS publication, <strong>Journal</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Cuban</strong> <strong>Philately</strong>, continued<br />
its successful participation at philatelic literature<br />
competitions by winning another Large Vermeil Medal at<br />
EXFILNA 2012, the equivalent <strong>of</strong> the APS StampShow in<br />
the United States.<br />
We reiterate our congratulations to our Editor,<br />
Ron HIll, members <strong>of</strong> our Editorial Board, and to our<br />
contributing authors.<br />
We are glad to report that <strong>Cuban</strong> philately was well<br />
represented at EXFILNA 2012 with six <strong>Cuban</strong> collections<br />
and two philatelic literature entries exhibited and<br />
winning four Large Gold, two Gold, one Large Vermeil,<br />
and one Vermeil Medals. Four <strong>of</strong> the entries were from<br />
ICPS members, and four from non-members. Following<br />
is a list <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Cuban</strong> exhibits and the medals they won.<br />
Our congratulations go to all <strong>of</strong> them.<br />

filatélica <strong>de</strong> Cuba que ganaron entre ellas cuatro medallas <strong>de</strong> Oro<br />
Gran<strong>de</strong>, dos <strong>de</strong> Oro, una Vermeil Gran<strong>de</strong> y una Vermeil. Cuatro<br />
<strong>de</strong> las exhibiciones cubanas expuestas pertenecen a miembros<br />
<strong>de</strong> la SFCI. A continuación <strong>de</strong>tallamos las ocho exhibiciones y<br />
