Report From EXFILNA 2012
EXFILNA 2012 was held in the city of Calahorra in the
Rioja region of Spain, from October 6 to 13. ICPS members
attending the show from the United States were Ernesto
Cuesta and his wife Laura María Herrera and Dan Chaij,
Secretary of ICPS. Attending members from Spain were
Fernando Aranaz del Río, President of FESOFI, and Jesús
Sitjá Prats.
In addition four of our new members joined our society
during EXFILNA 2012. They are Maydolin Echemendía
Carbajal who specializes in Cuban revenues, postal history,
traditional philately, and topicals; Miguel Puigrefagut
Comello, who specializes in Cuban colonial philately;
Agustín Alberto de León, who specializes in Cuba up to
1907, including the stampless period; and Eduardo Escalada
Goicochea, who specializes in Cuban postal forgeries,
town cancellations, and philatelic literature. Please join us
in welcoming them into our society. With their inception
into the ICPS our membership rises to 107 members, with
68 members residing in the United States and 39 in other
countries, including 17 members in Spain.

Informe de EXFILNA 2012
La EXFILNA 2012 se celebró en la ciudad de Calahorra en
la región de la Rioja de España, del 6 al 13 de octubre. De la
SFCI asistieron a la exhibición desde los Estados Unidos los
miembros Ernesto Cuesta y su esposa Laura María Herrera
y Dan Chaij. De España asistieron Fernando Aranaz del
Río, Presidente de FESOFI, y Jesús Sitjá Prats.
Cuatro nuevos miembros para la Sociedad durante
la exhibición. Los cuatro nuevos miembros son Maydolin
Echemendía Carbajal, que se especializa en fiscales, historia
postal, filatelia tradicional y colecciones temáticas; Miguel
Puigrefagut Comello, que se especializa en filatelia cubana
colonial; Agustín Alberto de León, que colecciona Cuba
hasta 1907, incluyendo el período pre-filatélico; y Eduardo
Escalada Goicochea, que se especializa en falsos postales,
cancelaciones de pueblos, y literatura filatélica. Extendemos
una calurosa acogida a estos nuevos miembros de nuestra
sociedad.

The ICPS publication, Journal of Cuban Philately, continued
its successful participation at philatelic literature
competitions by winning another Large Vermeil Medal at
EXFILNA 2012, the equivalent of the APS StampShow in
the United States.
We reiterate our congratulations to our Editor,
Ron HIll, members of our Editorial Board, and to our
contributing authors.
We are glad to report that Cuban philately was well
represented at EXFILNA 2012 with six Cuban collections
and two philatelic literature entries exhibited and
winning four Large Gold, two Gold, one Large Vermeil,
and one Vermeil Medals. Four of the entries were from
ICPS members, and four from non-members. Following
is a list of the Cuban exhibits and the medals they won.
Our congratulations go to all of them.

Nos complace informarles que la filatelia cubana tuvo
una presencia muy respetable en la EXFILNA 2012 con la
participación de seis colecciones y dos trabajos de literatura
filatélica de Cuba que ganaron entre ellas cuatro medallas de Oro
Grande, dos de Oro, una Vermeil Grande y una Vermeil. Cuatro
de las exhibiciones cubanas expuestas pertenecen a miembros
de la SFCI. A continuación detallamos las ocho exhibiciones y
las medallas que obtuvieron. Nuestras felicitaciones a todos los
concursantes.
