Delegation of Tanzania
Morogoro so they call Br. Ignas Dimoso and Br. Aloyce
to do something and in fact they came immediately.
While waiting there every one was at the first
moment afraid of getting out of the car because
of the danger that could be faced. One side an
elephant trumpeting, a hyena rejoicing expecting to
get its fill. Great fear was on the lions which can
be encountered unexpectedly. When the brothers
from St Augustine arrived there they had the
courage to get out and remove the broken wheel
and carried back to Mikumi town together with the
guests. After the repair and everything it was
already morning. No one had slept! We had spent
almost six hours in the Park! Each visit has
produced its own phenomena.
After the Mikumi episode a time of rest was granted
before embarking towards Mwanza, more than
thousand kilometers from Dar Es Salaam. It was a
smooth journey except for the places where the road
was not asphalted. We left in the early morning and
arrived at Mwanza at eight in the evening.
St Alypius House is a pastoral community. It is
working in the parish of Mkolani with its several
outstations. This second visit of renewal as
officially inaugurated immediately in order to have
sufficient time for provincial and secretary to
accomplish their tasks. As usually in the reunion
with the community Prior Provincial animated gave
different directions and advices. The community
took them as one of its challenges in its spiritual

and body growth. The visit was officially closed by
the message of Prior Provincial to the brothers
inviting them to live their Christian and
Augustinian vocation in union with the church of
Tanzania and the whole church.
Having concluded the visit they began again the
long journey back to Morogoro. The official opening
of the visit at St Augustine House with the
message of Prior Provincial to the whole
community during the evening prayer. Invitation to
go on with the formation activity without giving up
because it is the source of the important element,
personnel for the different fields of operation. The
future of any religious institution depends on the
formation of its candidates. The Prior Provincial had
a talk with the legal community then with simple
professed brothers and then with the philosophers
as a group. The visit concluded with a meeting
with the legal community of St. Augustine House.
The journey to Dar es Salaam followed the next day
in late morning. At Dar es Salaam the visit was
opened officially the Prior Provincial in the afternoon
and the talk with the brothers individually was done.
Whenever there was a free time a visit to the
outstations of the two parishes assisted by St
Monica community in Mavurunza. There was a
moment for the Prior Provincial to have a meeting
with the local community where he highlighted
some important aspects with respect to community
life and the pastoral activities in the two different
parishes of Temboni and Mavurunza.
A meeting with the representative of the company
preparing plans for the future secondary school
whereby different ideas, opinions and new
contributions were given.
The whole visit of renewal was concluded in the
Delegation of Tanzania by having a meeting with
the Delegation Council at Mavurunza.
All the Augustinians of the Delegation of Tanzania
would like to thank God for all the moment in
which the Prior Provincial was with us. We feel the
nearness of the whole Province in his presence. We
appreciate and assure him to work on the different
directions given for the God of the Delegation and
that of the Order.
