2009 PROVINCIA DE FILIPINAS Boletín Informativo 41 Delegation of India EDACOCHIN THE Delegation of Our Lady of Grace, India, had completed three years since it had become a Delegation. St. Augustine’s Minor Seminary had a relatively fruitful three months from October to December. These three months left us with the most program-filled and producing period of the Academic Year. Rosary Celebrations in the month of October was observed with various devotional activities that enabled us all to go deeper into the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ. It was a month-long journey along with Our Lady whose dedication and surrender to God’s will was unquestionably hailed and meditated all throughout the month. The aspirants found it an opportunity to read, write, speak more about the different phases of the life of Our Lady and the last ten days of the month of October was further enlivened with the lay people of Shrine of St. Antony joining hands with the aspirants to make the month a worth-gift to Our Lady. All the Celebrations came to the culmination on 30 th October when a Solemn Liturgical Celebration was followed by a witnessing Rosary Procession around the Shrine of St. Antony and a fun-filled fraternal banquet shared by almost five hundreds of People. The month of November had much more to offer both to the aspirants as well as to the people of St. Antony. 13 th November 2009 left the fathers and brothers in the Minor Seminary and Major Seminary with a lot of colorful memories as the Seminary celebrated the birthday of Very. Rev. Fr. Alexander Palliparambil, the Delegate Superior. The Parents Day of the Aspirants was celebrated on 15 th November 2009. It was a day long entertainingpackage-for the aspirants which started with Solemn Liturgical Celebration in the Morning followed by a grand dinner in the afternoon and culminated with the variety of crazy, crafty and cultural entertainment by the Aspirants in the evening. The Audience which mostly set up with the parents and relatives of the Aspirants had a high regard for the stunning and Los PP. Jolly y Paul (en los extremos) de India junto con los PP. Paul Jaison Kochery, who went to Australia to attend the CAT meeting, returned back on 5 th October 2009. The Dawning of December marked with a different movement in and outside the Seminary. The Aspirants found yet another occasion to cheer themselves up with greeting cards, Christmas friend, Christmas Carol, Christmas Crib, Christmas tree and Mist-filled Christmas Eve. The Vigil Mass at Christmas Night was celebrated together with the people of St. Antony which was followed by Christmas Gift exchanging and all the usual festivities of the Christmas Night. ALUVA It was a cake-walk three months for the professed brothers at Aluva, since they went for a short vacation after the first Semester Exams early in the month of October which was followed by a week-refreshing Annual Retreat at Thalappuzha in the district of Wayanadu. Jolly Albert Enamavungal, who went to Australia to attend the OSAAP conference returned back on 7 th October and Fr. Jojo Naissery went to Spain on 13 th October 2009. Rev. Br. Mary Das Arakkal was ordained to the Deaconate on 7 th November 2009 by His Excellency Rev. Dr. Joseph Karikkassery, the Auxiliary Bishop of Verapoly. Apart from Christmas, the month of December witnessed another important celebration of the Study House, Aluva. The Major seminarians celebrated their Parents’ Day on the 4 th December 2009. The Celebrations began with the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration in the afternoon followed by a grand dinner in the evening. The highlight of the Day was Cultural Program organized by the professed brothers. For the second consecutive time in the history of Study House, the professed brothers staged a Professional Social Drama of Two hours which was a thorough-fun-filled Comedy-entertainer. The audience, which mostly set up with the parents, parishioners and sisters of different Congregations, had a high regard for the professional and breathtaking performances of the brothers. The Christmas celebrations also were remarkable with the professed organizing Christmas Carol for the Parishioners of Our Parish Parish at Aluva. El nuevo pabellón ya concluido del Colegio de Pollachi THALAPPUZHA The Community of Thalappuzha had a quiet yet graceful period from October to December. Fr. Bosco Kuttuthara and Fr. Anson Joseph Kalathiparmabil, the newly appointed parish priests in Thalappuzha and Pilakkavu respectively had organized the Rosary celebrations and Christmas Carols in grand style and worth manner. Fr. Bosco is also busy with organizing the Novena to the Santo Nino in his substation dedicated to the infant Jesus at the substation of Chandanathodu. Meanwhile Fr. Antony Ettumkal, the Economo of the House conducted the Annual Retreat for our Major Seminarians in the House of Thalappuzha in the first week of October 2009. We had also the first accident caused by the climate conditions of Thalappuzha as Fr. Anson met with an accident due to the heavy fog at Thalappuzha. He had chocked with a Jeep as he was going to celebrate the mass at his parish station early in the morning and the heavy fog had done the damage. He had a small fracture in the heel, which immobilized him more than a month. Now he is alright and resumed his work. POLLACHI The School Community at Pollachi had a busy and program filled three months. The School is slowly and steadily becoming to be one of the best learning centers in the region. The Construction of the Second floor the new School building is over. With this we have fulfilled all the urgent infrastructural needs of the school. Meanwhile the Provincial Council asked to submit the documents for construction of the fathers’ residence within the School Campus. Once the Plan and estimate of the proposed residence is prepared, the work is expected to begin soon. Meanwhile the School was closed for Christmas Vacation and students and staff went for Christmas celebrations. Fr. Paul Jaison Kochery
