THE Minor seminarians
came back after the
Christmas vacation and their
return early in January 2010
marked the beginning of a
prosperous new year. The
Aspirants really looked
recharged enough after their
vacation and they were raring
to go for everything best that
will come their way. The rays
of Hope, whispers of
confidence, cry for success
and hunger for the best seem
to loom over the air around
the seminary. The beginning
of a New Year was incidentally coinciding with
the final Semester of an Academic Year. The
Aspirants got themselves focused sharply o their
studies straightaway after their Christmas
Celebrations as they were slowly drawing near
to their Annual Examinations in March. Their
classes were over by the end of February which
was followed by a month long Study-Leave for
the Preparation of Annual Exam.
The Aspirants went for a one-day pilgrimage to
Vagamon Mount Valley in Kottayam on 27 th
February 2010. It was quite inspirational for all
of them to visit the Monastery of Benedictine
Hermits and spend a little time with the monks
of the Monastery. On the way back from the
beautiful valley of Vagamon, we visited the
Tomb of St. Alphonsa at Bharananganam at
Kottayam as well.
The Aspirants had finished their Annual Exams
by 27 th March and they headed for their long
summer vacation on 28 th March. It is certain
that their absence will surely make the
seminary bit monotonous as well as lifeless for
sometime right from now.
St. Antony’s shrine also had a few programs to
make us busy over the last three months. A
week long feast in honor of St. Antony
preceded by nine-days of Novena was the
highlight of all programs at St. Antony’s Shrine.

Thousands of faithful were visiting and pleading
the intercession of St. Antony. A handful of
well-known preachers of Cochin diocese and
neighboring dioceses provided thoughtprovoking
homilies during the course of festal
celebrations. Moreover, we arranged a one day
pilgrimage to St. Alphonsa’s tomb at Kottayam
for the laity closely working with us at St.
Antony’s Church.
ALUVA
The Major Seminarians returned back home
after the Christmas vacation in the first week of
January. The brothers were put into their busy
life as soon as they reopened their theological
studies. Meanwhile Dn. Marydas Arackal, who
had completed his theological Studies in
December 2009, was assigned to the House of
Edacochin, to partake and help in the liturgical
ceremonies of St. Antony’s Shrine and for giving
classes to the minor seminarians of the House.
Mary Queen Church at Aluva which is taken
care by the community at Aluva in the Person
of Fr. Jolly Enamavunkal had celebrated a week
long feast in honor of Our Lady of and St.
Sebastian in early days of January. Fr. Francis
Kothakath, who was away from the House for
two months to collaborate with the Vicariate of
Intramurus, returned back from the Philippines
