La práctica del ecoturismo y el turismo de
aventura, más que una nueva corriente o
una moda temporal, es el gran regreso del
hombre hacia el mundo natural… es un
reencuentro. Cancún es la puerta de acceso a

sistema de ríos subterráneos, cavernas y

Xel-Há

Xel-Há cuenta con un campamento tortuguero, un delfinario y un apiario, en los que

mantenimiento ecológico de la zona.
Xel-Há se encuentra a unos minutos del misterioso sitio arqueológico maya de
Tulum, y es ideal visitar ambos lugares el mismo día.

Xel-Há is a subaquatic paradise where you can discover, with just a mask and a
snorkel, the hundreds of multicolored fish that live in the river and the inlet,
surrounded by an emerald jungle and exotic views, hard to find elsewhere. Take
a walk to explore this beautiful place, or take a bicycle or the mini-train, admiring
the different species in their natural habitats.
Devoted to ecology and the preservation of the endemic flora and fauna, the
park has a turtle camp, a dolphinarium and an apiary, so as to promote the
preservation of these species and contribute to the research and ecological
conservation of the region.
Xel-Há is only a few minutes from the mysterious Archaeological Mayan Site
of Tulum and it is ideal to visit both places the same day.

There are cell phones for rent
per day for local use. Ask your

The peso is the official currency.
There are automated teller
machines and money exchange
offices in the shopping malls in
Cancun’s hotel zone. Most of the
shops accept American Express,
Visa, and MasterCard, as well
as the U.S. currency.
Bank hours: 9:00 to 16:00 hrs.
Money exchange: some are
open until 22:00 hrs.
Electricity
110 volts. Usually, hotels are
supplied with voltage converters
for 220 devices. Some sockets
do not accept polarized,
or three-prone, plugs, which is
why it is a good idea to bring
your own adapter.

Six hours earlier than Greenwich
Mean Time. Daylight Savings
Time begins on the first Sunday
of April and ends on the last
Sunday in October.
Languages
The official language is Spanish.
In the tourist industry, English,
French, Italian, and German are
also spoken. Part of the local
indigenous population still
speaks Mayan language.
Tips
