Free tra<strong>de</strong> agreement negotiations HONDURAS-PERÚ will be retaken in October<br />
In or<strong>de</strong>r to find new tra<strong>de</strong> opportunities in fair conditions for Honduran<br />
manufacturers, the authorities of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce<br />
(SIC) will retake negotiations for a Free Tra<strong>de</strong> Agreement (FTA)<br />
with Peru.<br />
SIC officers said they have held conversations at the level of ministers<br />
and <strong>de</strong>puty ministers, with the Ambassador of Peru in <strong>Honduras</strong>, in<br />
or<strong>de</strong>r to meet the requirements and complete negotiations which might<br />
be retaken in October 2013.<br />
In 2011 negotiations were discontinued due to differences in agriculture,<br />
industry sectors, especially in the textile apparel, however for the<br />
next month agreements will be a fact, they conclu<strong>de</strong>d.<br />

More than 200 million Lempiras to revitalize<br />
Honduran productive activities<br />
More than 200 million Lempiras will be invested in the<br />
reactivation of agriculture production in <strong>Honduras</strong>, announced<br />
authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture and<br />
Livestock (SAG) and the incorporation of 50,000 additional<br />
acres of Irrigation Park; the valleys are enhanced<br />
across the country.<br />
On the other hand, were fun<strong>de</strong>d 2,500 million Lempiras<br />
for onion producers to meet domestic consumption<br />
as part of a whole strategy to reduce rural poverty, increase<br />
employment and wealth generation in the rural<br />
sector, therefore more opportunities for the country.<br />
Export of non traditional manufacturing<br />
goods surpass $ 1 billion<br />
Authorities of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce<br />
(SIC), ensured that exports of manufactured goods<br />
and non-traditional in the northern region of the country,<br />
excee<strong>de</strong>d one billion dollars (20 billion 500 million<br />
Lempiras).<br />
The SIC August Report, consi<strong>de</strong>rs that the export of<br />
<strong>Honduras</strong> surpasses one billion dollars. The report<br />
also shows that exports goods to Europe and other<br />
countries are mainly: coffee, oil, textile clothing, sugar,<br />
bananas, timber, pineapple and tobacco. Central<br />
American countries compete with exports of oil products,<br />
snacks and fried foods, soap, cardboard, animal<br />
feed, plastics, wheat products and others.<br />
