El primer ciclo coincidió con la época lluviosa-norte del 14 de julio al 18 de noviembre de 1999; el segundo, con la norte-verano del 23 de noviembre de 1999 al 24 de febrero del 2000 y el tercero, con la verano-lluviosa, desde el 14 de marzo al 08 de junio del 2000. La siembra fue realizada con semillas asexuales “hijuelos” provenientes de la Estación Experimental Caripe. El diseño estadístico utilizado fue bloques al azar con tres repeticiones, en arreglo factorial 3 x 7; Factor A: tres ciclos de siembra y factor B: siete clones. Se realizó la correlación entre los rendimientos en peso fresco y las variables morfológicas evaluadas: altura, expansión horizontal, longitud y diámetro de tallo y número de hijuelos por planta. Los resultados indicaron que los clones con mayor rendimiento en peso fresco durante los tres ciclos de siembra, fueron Criollo Blanco 3 (20,25 t/ha), Criollo Blanco 1 (19,09 t/ha) y Criollo Morado 3 (19,02 t/ha). El clon Criollo Morado 3 presentó tallo más alto que los Criollo Blanco 3 y Criollo Blanco 1; estos clones igualmente están dentro de los de mayor promedio en diámetro de tallo. Se determinó que las mejores épocas de siembra para la producción de cebollín en Caripe son norte-verano y veranolluviosa. Se evidenció que el número de “hijuelos” por planta está correlacionado negativamente con el rendimiento y con las variables morfológicas evaluadas. ABSTRACT At the Caripe Experimental Station, dependent to the INIA-Monagas, located in the Municipality of Caripe, it was assessed the agronomic potential of seven clones of promising bunching onion for three consecutive cycles of sowing. The first cycle coincided with the north-rainy season from July 14 to November 18, 1999; the second, with the north-summer from November 23, 1999 to February 24, 2000; and the third, with the summer-rainy, from March 14 to 08 June 2000. The sowing was done with asexual seed from Caripe Experimental Station field. A complete randomized block design with three replications, in a factorial arrangement was used. Factor A: three cycles of planting and factor B, seven clones. It was performed the correlation between yields on fresh weight and the morphological variables: height, horizontal expansion, stems length and diameter and number of offshoot per plant. The results indicated that clones with higher average yield on fresh weight during the three cycles of planting, were Criollo Blanco 3 (20,25 t / ha), Criollo Blanco 1 (19,09 t / ha) and Criollo Morado 3 (19, 02 t / ha). The clon Criollo Morado 3 had higher stems than Criollo Blanco 3 and Criollo Blanco 1; these clones were also in the group of the largest in stem diameter, providing good options for bunching onion production in Caripe throughout the year. The best seasons for bunching onion production in Caripe are north-summer and rainy summer. This study showed that the offshoot number per plant was negatively correlated with yield and evaluated morphological variables. INTRODUCCIÓN El cebollín (Allium fistulosum L.) es una hortaliza de hojas, adaptada a las condiciones edafoclimáticas del municipio Caripe, estado Monagas, donde ha sido explotada ampliamente debido a la gran demanda de los consumidores del oriente de Venezuela (Gil, 1994), generando empleo directo e indirecto durante todo el año en las comunidades agrícolas, de allí su importancia Revista UDO Agrícola 9 (3): 491-498. 2009 491
