August 14 - 20, 2009Sheriff - Noticias / NewsARRESTAN SOSPECHOSODE CULTIVO DEMARIHUANA Y POSESIONDE ARTEFACTOSEXPLOSIVOSCondado Osceola – Los detectivesdel Sheriff del Condado de Osceolaarrestaron a William Scott Clarky lo acusaron de Hacer o IntentarHacer Aparatos de Destrucción,Producción de Marihuana y Posesiónde Marihuana con cargos adicionalespendientes. La investigación comenzóel 9 de agosto cuando los agentescon el Equipo de Respuesta a laComunidad de la Oficina del Sheriffcondujeron un operativo de control detransito en Poinciana. El chofer y elocupante, Jett Thomas Cramer andGayle Justice estaban en posesiónde plantas de marihuana que ellosdijeron venían de su residencia enel 103 Nicholas Court. Los agentesobtuvieron una orden de registropara la residencia y localizaron unasola planta de marihuana. Luegode un registro más amplio, unarmario escondido fue localizadoen la habitación principal detrásde un espejo y numerosas armasy municiones fueron descubiertas.Entre las armas estaban 3 morteros yvarios morteros para bombardeo, unode los cuales tenía una carga viva.Los agentes también encontraron 3aparatos de explosivos improvisadosque fueron removidos por la Unidadde Explosivos de la Oficina del Sheriffdel Condado Orange. La casa móvil pertenecíaa Elizabeth Haley, la novia de Clark.Luego de que los agentes registraranla casa móvil localizaron 3 lámparaspara crecimiento y tierra. El áreaparecía como si las plantas hubiesensido recientemente removidas.Mientras los agentes estaban enla residencia, Haley y Clark llegarona la casa. Walker fue arrestado eingresado a la Cárcel del CondadoOsceola. Cramer y Justice fueronarrestados y acusados de Posesiónde Parafernalia de Drogas y Posesiónde Marihuana de Menos de 20gramos. The investigationbegan August 9 when deputieswith the Sheriff’s Office CommunityResponse Team conducted a trafficstop in Poinciana. The driver andoccupant, Jett Thomas Cramer andGayle Justice were in possession of amarijuana plant which they said camefrom their residence at 103 NicholasCourt. Deputies obtained a searchwarrant for the residence and locatedonly one marijuana plant. Upon afurther search, a hidden closet waslocated in the master bedroom behinda mirror and numerous weapons andammunition were discovered. Amongthe weapons were 3 mortar launchersand several mortar shells, one of whichhad a live charge in it. Deputies alsofound 3 improvised explosive devicesthat were removed by the OrangeCounty Sheriff’s Office ExplosivesOrdinance Unit. In addition, deputiestook into evidence a fully automaticMAC 11 sub machine gun, timingfuses, a binary explosive compoundand numerous other high poweredsemi-automatic weapons.Cramer and Justice cooperated withdetectives and the investigation ledto a trailer in Cypress Cove wheremarijuana plants might be located.The trailer belonged to ElizabethHaley, Clark’s girlfriend. After deputiessearched the trailer they were located3 grow lamps and potting soil. The areaappeared as if the plants had recentlybeen removed.While deputies were at the residence,Haley and Clark arrived at the house.Walker was arrested and booked intothe Osceola County Jail. Cramer andJustice were arrested and chargedwith Possession of Drug Paraphernaliaand Possession of Marijuana Under20 Grams. They were booked intothe Osceola County Jail. Haley wasarrested and charged with CultivatingMarijuana and Possession ofMarijuana.The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco andFirearms was contacted and removedthe firearms from the residence. Ya estaba convencidode que el reporte estaba correctocuando salió, pero me tomó cinco añosdesarrollarel poder deabandonarl o sMarlboros.Pero,enelmomento,no me dicuentadeque el fumartepuedehacer dañode muchas o t r a smaneras.El reporte más reciente del CirujanoGeneral sobre las consecuencias delcigarrillo a la salud decía “el fumar dañacasi todos los órganos de su cuerpo,c a u s a n d om u c h a senfermedadesy reduciendosu salud engeneral.” Elreporte tambiéndecía, “dejarde fumar tieneb e n e f i c i o sinmediatos asícomo a largo plazo,reduciendo el riesgode enfermedadescausadas por fumar ymejorando su saluden general.” Si ustedfuma, se debe a usted mismoabandonarlo. Y yo creo que tiene laobligación de tratar de ayudar a otrosa abandonarlo. Yo voy a tratar dehacer mi parte con esta inusual seriede tres partes. I was convinced the reportwas right when it came out, but it tookme fi ve years to develop the willpowerto give up my Marlboros. But, at thetime, I didn’t realize that smoking couldharm you in so many more ways.The most recent Surgeon General’sreport on the health consequences ofsmoking said “smoking harms nearlyevery organ of your body, causingmany diseases and reducing yourhealth in general.” The report alsosaid, “quitting smoking has immediateas well as long-term benefi ts, reducingrisks for diseases caused by smokingand improving your health in general.”If you smoke, you owe it to yourself toquit. And I believe you have an obligationto try to help others to quit. I’m going todo my part with this unusual three-partseries. No scolding or exaggeratedscare tactics. I’m going to give youjust the facts in a chain of bulletins.You can tack these columns up on bulletinboards and refrigerators. I recommendgiving them to a smoker you love.Here goes:Smoking damages the immune systemand increases the risk of infections.- The general health of smokers isinferior to the health of nonsmokers.- Many illnesses in smokers lastlonger than in nonsmokers. - Aftersurgery, smokers have a greaterrisk of complications and a lowersurvival rate. - When smokers getskin wounds, they take longer to healthan those in non-smokers. - Womenwho smoke usually reach menopausesooner. - Smokers tend to have lowerbone density. Postmenopausal womenwho smoke have an increased risk forhip fracture than women who neversmoked. - Smoking cigarettes causesheart disease, the leading cause ofdeath in the United States. - Smokerswho have a heart attack are morelikely to die within an hour of the heartattack than nonsmokers. - Cigarettesmoking causes emphysema, whichdestroys a person’s ability to breathe.An early warning sign of emphysemais “smoker’s cough.” - Smokerscommonly suffer from chronic bronchitis.-Smoking causes peripheral arterydisease that can affect the blood fl owthroughout the entire body. - Smokingcauses many types of cancer, thesecond leading cause of death in theUnited States. These include cancerof the lung, esophagus, larynx, mouth,bladder, pancreas, kidney and cervix.- Smoking increases your risk ofdeveloping sciatica, a pain that runsdown the back of your leg from spinaldiscpressure on a nerve. Smokingcan block the body’s ability to delivernutrients to the discs of the lowerback. - Smoking causes cataracts.- Smoking during pregnancy is linkedwith the higher risk of miscarriage,premature delivery, stillbirth, infantdeath, low birth weight, and suddeninfant-deathsyndrome. - Smokingdulls your senses of taste and smell.- Smoking makes your skin age faster.- Smoking increases the risk of sexualimpotence.
