• Gasto en remuneraciones por un total de RD$139,851.4 millones, representando un 4.3% del PIB. De excluir las remuneraciones correspondientes al Ministerio de Educación, el monto de remuneraciones equivale a RD$71,726.7 millones, un 2.2% del PIB. Cuadro No. 9
El gasto de capital para el <strong>2016</strong> se espera que alcance el 2.4% del Producto Interno Bruto. Con dicho monto se le dará continuidad a los proyectos que impulsan la mejora en la calidad de vida de las personas con menores recursos, como es el caso de la continuación en la construcción de viviendas en la comunidad de la Barquita; los proyectos que buscan provisionar la mejora de los servicios básicos de salud y educación, como son la construcción de planteles educativos y aulas a nivel nacional así como la construcción de los Hospitales en provincias como Higüey y Santo Domingo; y las mejoras en el transporte público, como la construcción de la línea 2-B del Metro de Santo Domingo. Estos proyectos para el <strong>2016</strong> reflejan la coherencia de las autoridades en el diseño de políticas públicas que están enfocadas a mejorar la calidad de vida de la población más vulnerable.
