produce androgens<br />
• One dominant follicle continues to<br />
grow<br />
• Granulosa cells of that follicle<br />
respond to LH & FSH & secrete<br />
estrogen<br />
• Estradiol peaks preovulatory causes<br />
a surge in LH<br />
• Granulosa cells secrete inhibin and<br />
finally have effect on FSH so FSH<br />
drop off just prior to ovulation
