Trotz Ihrer Länge von fast 15 m ist es im
Führerstand der Garratt eng und heiß. Daher
läßt sich der Sitz des Lokführers nach außen
schwenken.

Despite the loco’s massive length of almost
15 m (48.5 ft), the cab of the Garratt is very
cramped and hot. The engineer’s seat
swivels on its mounting and can be
positioned outside the cab, placing its
occupant in the cooling breeze.

En dépit de la longueur imposante de la
locomotive, plus de 15 m (48,5 pieds), la
cabine de la Garratt est très étroite et il y
règne une atmospèhère surchauffée. Le
siège du conducteur pivote sur son support
et peut être déplacé à l’extérieur de la
cabine, ce qui permet à son occupant de
respirer un peu d’air frais.
