RS880THREE-WAY ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLEDLOUDSPEAKER SYSTEMAPPLICATIONS:• Concerts• Performing Arts• Club• Voice Announcement• Houses of Worship• Sports FacilitiesFEATURES:• Arrayable design• High output, low distortion sound quality• PowerSense dynamic driver protection• High power capacity• High sensitivityDESCRIPTIONThe RS880 TM is a high output, high-sensitivity, hornloaded,three-way, full-range loudspeaker system ofwavefront-coherent design. The components of the RS880system are smoothly matched for seamless full-rangeperformance. The low frequency section of the RS880utilizes two 15" triple-spider low frequency drivers on a dualthroatedexponential bass horn. The midrange section ofthe RS880 consists of an M200 TM 2" exit compression drivermounted on a midrange Pattern Control horn. The low andmid-frequency horns of the RS880 loudspeaker system aremolded in one piece and comprise the fiberglass faceplateof the trapezoidal cabinet. The RS880’s high frequencysection, which is mounted co-axially to the upper LF driver, utilizes a single Ferrofluid-cooled VHF100 (patent pending)1" compression driver coupled to a fiberglass high frequencyPattern Control horn. The RS880 system is engineered with a unique passivethree-way frequency dividing network which providesoptimal filtering and slope characteristics throughout thesystem’s bandpass. PowerSense Dynamic Driver Protectioncircuitry provides continuous monitoring of the power levelinto the loudspeaker system. The RS880’s passive crossoverdesign enables exceptional performance with the economyof single amplifier channel operation. The electronic system controller acts as an electroniccrossover to an optional VBS subwoofer. It monitors boththe RS880 system and the subwoofer through sense linesfrom the power amplifier outputs and provides both dynamicspeaker protection and dynamic equalization to the system. The RS880 enclosure is made of extensively braced,black-painted 13-ply void free Baltic birch plywood. Integralsteel edging connected to internal steel bracing allowssuspension of the RS system.
