It is designed tobe used with the RS Series trapezoidal flying arrayloudspeaker systems. The VBS212 is comprisedof two 12" cast frame low frequency driversmounted to a vented enclosure. The long excursion,Ferrofluid-cooled drivers incorporate a rigid, lightweight cone coupled to a proprietary triple-spidercore. This device produces exceptional transientresponse, low distortion, and low frequencyresponse down to 35 Hz.The VBS212 enclosure is constructed of heavilybracedblack spatter-finish 13-ply void free Balticbirch plywood. The enclosure has four steelhandles. For outdoor or climate-resistantrequirements, the VBS212 is available with ahand-laminated fiberglass exterior (chooseVBS212FE). The VBS212 has the samedimensions as the RS660 TM .The VBS Series Subwoofers are optimized foruse with Community RS Series speakers and theappropriate System Controller. VBS212VENTED BASS CABINETFREQUENCY RESPONSEIMPEDANCEDIMENSIONSARCHITECTS' AND ENGINEERS' SPECIFICATIONSThe loudspeaker system shall be of the vented trapezoidal enclosure type with two long-excursion, triple-spider, twelve inchFerrofluid-cooled low frequency loudspeakers. The loudspeaker enclosure shall be constructed of 13-ply void free Baltic birchplywood with a black painted surface, (optional) black fiberglass surface and integral steel edging on four corners supported byinternally connected steel straps. The loudspeaker shall have four steel handles.The subwoofer system shall meet the following power and performance criteria when combined with the Community RSSystem Controller. Amplitude response of 35 Hz to 250 Hz, 400 Watts continuous pink noise, 1000 Watts program powerhandling, 97 dB SPL sensitivity at 1 meter with 1 watt applied. The system impedance shall be 4 ohms nominal. The dimensionsshall be 33.75 inches (857.25 mm) high, 20.25 inches (514.35 mm) wide, 20.25 inches (514.35 mm) deep, and weigh 108 lbs.(49.7 kg). The subwoofer shall be called the Community VBS212.LIMITED WARRANTYCommunity loudspeaker systems are guaranteed to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of fiveyears from the original date of sale. Since the warranty applies to the product, the remainder of the warranty period will beautomatically transferred to any subsequent owner.Only failures caused by defects in materials and workmanship are covered, not failures caused by abuse, accident,modification, improper handling/installation, or repairs made without factory authorization or by other than an authorizedCommunity Field Service Station. Products covered by this warranty will be repaired or replaced at the option of Community,without charge for materials or labor, provided all the terms of this warranty have been met.This statement is a condensed version of the Community Product Warranty, intended for quick reference only.
