Auxiliar de conversa (PROGRAMA CAP)<br />
Keep calm & escolteu música<br />
English is becoming more and more important in our school, and that’s evident with the investment of<br />
hours and activities that our students have in the school. One of the most important projects is have<br />
a native conversation auxiliary. This year we have had two helping our students, Joe at secondary and<br />
Hayley at primary. In the following text they’ll explain their experience in our school…<br />
“Being involved with a<br />
conversation auxiliary<br />
program at la Mercè has<br />
proved to be an interesting,<br />
challenging, enriching, at<br />
times exhausting but always<br />
fun experience for us.<br />
The kids are of course, the<br />
reason we and the incredibly<br />
focused, passionate team of<br />
teaching staff are here.<br />
We believe that this type of<br />
language learning program<br />
is beneficial to these young<br />
learners. Lesson and activities<br />
aside, it works because they<br />
all have such strong and<br />
distinct personalities that<br />
we were encouraged from<br />
very start to make friends -<br />
with all of them – and then,<br />
they talk – and this is how<br />
language acquisition and comprehension works, once they have the need to communicate with a<br />
friend and the confidence to try.<br />
We really weren’t sure what to expect from this year at la Mercè, in Martorell or in Catalonia. The<br />
kids and staff (parents and friends) of the school have given so very generously to us in every way;<br />
Friendship, advice, time, emotional and edible support as “students” living in a local families’ home and<br />
have helped us to realize, on a passion level – that working in education is something we would like to<br />
pressure.<br />
If that doesn’t say what a great time we’ve had, what does?<br />
We will miss everyone here when we leave, no exceptions.<br />

Quantes vegades no haurem vist i sentit “Keep Calm” al llarg d’aquest curs? Potser han estat tantes que ja<br />
n’hem perdut el compte. I de ben segur que tots hem fet servir aquesta expressió unes quantes vegades,<br />
davant de situacions que ens desborden.<br />
Doncs bé, dir o sentir “keep calm” comporta una actitud al darrere, una voluntat de parar, primer, de respirar<br />
profundament i, després, saber fer durar aquesta sensació de benestar i de calma en nosaltres.<br />
És per això que els mestres i professors de l’escola hem volgut compartir, no les situacions d’estrès, sinó el<br />
que ens fa tornar a la calma: aquelles músiques, cançons i autors que ens porten cap a la pau i la serenor.<br />
Aquest n’és un recull. De veritat que serà bo sentir-les i poder-les utilitzar en alguns moments. Si voleu<br />
