ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES FOR<br />
P&N/SUTTON BUTTONS DIES<br />
To mount the die in the dieholder, the side screws are rotated anticlockwise<br />
until the die can be inserted into the holder, with the Vee<br />
in the die locating on the centre screw. The side screws are then<br />
tightened on to the die until “finger tight”, the screws entering the<br />
dimple holes adjacent to the Vee slot. The die is now retained in the<br />
holder.<br />
HEX DIE NUTS - CHROME STEEL<br />
• Chromium tool steel<br />
• 60 o Thread Form<br />
• The hexagonal shape die nut is used with a spanner or wrench for<br />
repairing external threads that have been damaged<br />
• They are not recommended for cutting an original thread<br />
The centre screw is now tightened down into the Vee slot and the<br />
side screws nipped tight with a screw driver. The die will now cut to<br />
its nominal size.<br />
To increase the cutting size:<br />
Release the tension on the side<br />
screws<br />
Screw the centre screw in, say<br />
one turn<br />
Re-tension the side screws<br />
The die will now cut a large size<br />
To reduce the cutting size:<br />
Release the tension on the side<br />
screws<br />
Unscrew the centre screw, say<br />
one turn<br />
Re-tension the side screws<br />
The die will now cut a smaller size<br />
BUTTON DIE HOLDERS<br />
• Both the 1.1/2” and 2” dieholder can be fitted with guides<br />
• The guide ensures accurate alignment when cutting the thread<br />
• Guides are available separately<br />
