Why Madagascar?<br />
As a travel photographer, one thing I always look for<br />
in a destination is variety and for that reason I would<br />
have to say Madagascar is hard to beat. It offers the<br />
perfect combination of rare and fascinating animals<br />
for wildlife photography, unbelievably friendly<br />
people for portrait photography and varied scenery<br />
for landscape photography.<br />
Pourquoi Madagascar ?<br />
En tant que photographe de voyage, s’il y a bien une<br />
chose que je cherche dans une destination, c’est<br />
la diversité, et pour ça je dois dire que Madagascar<br />
place la barre très haute. Elle offre une combinaison<br />
parfaite d’animaux rares et fascinants pour la<br />
photographie animalière, des gens incroyablement<br />
accueillants pour les portraits et des scènes variées<br />
pour les photos de paysages.<br />
One favourite place in Madagascar? And why?<br />
Isalo National Park. The landscape is so surreal. It<br />
has enormous gorges, bizarre sandstone formations<br />
and a picture-perfect oasis appearing as if by magic<br />
in the middle of parched canyons.<br />
On top of this, there are the iconic ring-tailed<br />
lemurs, interesting insects and colourful birds<br />
endemic to just Isalo National Park. From a<br />
photographic perspective, it also looks absolutely<br />
breathtaking at sunrise, as the red morning light hits<br />
the sandstone rocks.<br />
Un endroit préféré à Madagascar ? Et pourquoi ?<br />
Le Parc National d’Isalo, le paysage y est<br />
surréaliste. Il y a des gorges énormes, de drôles de<br />
formations de grés et une image de carte postale<br />
d’un oasis apparaissant comme par magie au milieu<br />
d’un canyon aride.<br />
En plus de tout ça, il y a les célèbres lémuriens<br />
Catta, des insectes très intéressants et des<br />
oiseaux très colorés endémiques. Et du point de<br />
vue photographique, la vue est à couper le souffle<br />
au lever du soleil, quand la lumière rouge du matin<br />
frappe les pierres de grés.<br />

to mean spending months<br />
or years on one subject, it<br />
just means photographing<br />
around your subject.<br />
