ADEMA
The first flight connecting Reunion and Tulear
was inaugurated on December 3rd. ADEMA
has carried out work to bring infrastructures
up to standard, a condition sine qua non for
the existence of this regional flight, which is recognised
as having economic importance for the country,
particularly the development of tourism.
In 2015, the work done at the airstrips and fire
protection levels at the Tuléar and Fort Dauphin
Airports allowed the Boeing 737-800 chosen by the
National Airline Company Air Madagascar to replace the
Boeing 737 - 300. The strategic partnership between Air
Madagascar and Air Austral foresees the increase of the
regional service, via La Réunion, on both lines.
Modernization
Airport infrastructure adaptation operations began
in October 2017; long work but also investments. Fire
protection at Tulear airport has been upgraded to
level 6, the lobby has been extended and modernised.
From now on, this airport can cope with the increase
in the number of passengers. This year, work is still
planned such as the extension of the terminal and the
installation of a lighting system for night services, for
the airport of Fort Dauphin.
Given its mission based on the construction,
management and operation of civil airports and airfields
open to public air traffic, ADEMA requires support from
the Government and donors.
