Welcome to Paris, whether this is your first trip or just a regular visit, then you<br />

tight schedule, each time I cannot help but be amazed by the architecture and<br />

Souvent considéré comme le plus grand musée du monde, le <strong>Louvre</strong><br />
n’a qu’un défaut : la foule. Parcouru chaque année par près de 8,5<br />
millions de visiteurs pressés de s’exalter devant le sourire de Mona Lisa,<br />
le lieu n’invite pas toujours, du fait de son succès, à la contemplation ; il<br />
faut parfois, hélas, partager le plaisir d’un Rubens avec une cohorte de<br />
bavards, ou renoncer aux Trois Grâces de Lucas Cranach (1531) à cause<br />
d’une ribambelle d’écoliers passablement dissipés. Heureusement pour<br />
les passionnés, comme pour les romantiques, il y a les nocturnes.<br />
Chaque mercredi, chaque vendredi, de dix-huit à vingt-deux heures, on<br />
peut déambuler sans se marcher sur les pieds. Moins de bruit, moins de<br />
scolaires, moins de touristes par grappes de vingt, plus de tranquillité,<br />
plus d’espace (mental) : on respire.<br />

latest film ‘Midnight in Paris,’ existed, he would be enchanted by the lighting,<br />
which accentuates the museum’s typically Parisian atmosphere. Through the<br />
windows, between one <strong>of</strong> Rembrandt’s Christs and a Nicolas Poussin bacchanal,<br />
you can watch the sun set whilst its light illuminates the Seine and the Saint-<br />
Germain-l’Auxerrois Church. For a few hours, Vermeer and le Lorrain are reserved<br />
for a lucky few and some <strong>of</strong> the most remote rooms are practically empty.<br />
SHOULDER-TO-SHOULDER INTIMACY<br />

Soudain, ces corps qui se frôlent devant Botticelli nous<br />
apparaissent autrement. Galerie Apollon, justement, où<br />
sont entreposés certains des joyaux de la couronne, une<br />
demoiselle demande à son voisin de se pencher au-dessus d’une<br />
minuscule… boîte à mouches (1774), pratique pour ranger ces<br />
faux grains de beauté, en mousseline noire, que les aristocrates<br />
de l’Ancien Régime se collaient sur le visage afin de souligner la<br />
blancheur de leur teint.<br />
Coïncidence, surgit devant nous une femme très pâle que l’on<br />
retrouve figée face au Verrou de Fragonard (1777) ; dans cette<br />
scène galante, un coquin referme la porte de sa chambre en<br />
compagnie d’une amie et la pomme du péché est sur la table. Ce<br />
qui rappelle assez joyeusement un autre fantasme, très populaire<br />
ici : passer toute la nuit au musée.<br />
Suddenly, bodies brushing against each other in front <strong>of</strong> Botticelli<br />
take on a whole new meaning. In the Apollo gallery, where<br />
some <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Louvre</strong>’s most exceptional pieces are displayed, a<br />
young woman asks her neighbour to bend down a tiny bit so<br />
she can see a fly box (1774) made out <strong>of</strong> black chiffon, practical<br />
for keeping beauty products in, the sort that aristocrats <strong>of</strong><br />
the Ancien Regime would use on their faces to highlight the<br />
whiteness <strong>of</strong> their complexions.<br />
Coincidentally, a very pale woman who is fixated by Fragonard’s<br />
Verrou (1777) appears in front <strong>of</strong> us. In this gallant scene, a young<br />
man, accompanied by his friend, closes his bedroom door, whilst<br />
an apple – symbolic <strong>of</strong> forbidden pleasures – sits on the table.<br />
This brings us rather merrily to another very popular fantasy:<br />
spending the whole night at the museum.<br />

après la fermeture, se pourrait-il que, une fois coincé à l’intérieur, les voluptueuses du Bain Turc (1862) nous<br />
invitent à les rejoindre, malgré leurs vertèbres en trop ? Bien sûr, il faudrait tromper la sécurité, ce qui paraît<br />
impossible. Pourtant : seul ou à deux, ne serait-il pas drôle de n’avoir que pour soi la Jeune fille en buste du<br />
Baron Pierre-Narcisse Guérin (1794) ? De courir dans les appartements de Napoléon III ? De jouer avec l’épée de<br />
Charlemagne, le sceptre de Charles X ? Ou de s’endormir sous Les Oiseaux de Braque (1953), voire de rêver face<br />
au ciel grec recomposé par l’Américain Cy Twombly dans The Selling (2010) ? Ce serait beau, mais imprudent,<br />
car un fantôme hante les couloirs.<br />
On raconte qu’après minuit, au département d’égyptologie, une silhouette masquée, vêtue de noir et prête à tuer,<br />
erre à la recherche du secret d’une divinité moabite nommée Belphégor. Plus amusant, une employée terrifiée<br />
confondit un soir un parapluie avec une momie… On reprend ses esprits, il est déjà l’heure de partir : dehors, la<br />
nuit ne fait que commencer.<br />
In the comedy ‘A Night at the Museum,’ a security guard, played by Ben Stiller, watches works <strong>of</strong> art come<br />
to life following the museum’s closure. Imagine if you were trapped inside the <strong>Louvre</strong>, the voluptuous ladies<br />
from Turkish Bath invite you to join them? Of course one would have to get past security, which is basically<br />
impossible. Although, whether on your own or à deux, wouldn’t it be wonderful to have the ‘Jeune fille en<br />
buste’ by Baron Pierre-Narcisse Guérin (1794) to yourself? To run around the apartments <strong>of</strong> Napoleon III? To<br />
play with Charlemagne’s sword or Charles X’s sceptre? Or to go to sleep underneath Braque’s Oiseaux (1953), to<br />
dream underneath the Grecian sky installed by American artist Cy Twombly and entitled The Ceiling (2010)? It<br />
would be wonderful but unadvisable, especially since a ghost haunts the museum’s corridors.<br />
Legend has it that after midnight, in the Egyptology department, a masked silhouette, dressed in black and<br />
ready to kill, wanders around searching for the secret <strong>of</strong> a Moabite god named Belphegor. Hilariously, one night<br />

Il est vrai que les essentiels masculins tournent très vite autour de tons basiques,<br />
comme le noir, le gris, le marine. Même si ces couleurs restent dominantes, on<br />
s’aperçoit dans les derniers défilés, autant à Paris qu’à Milan, quelques percées<br />
vitaminées. A croire que le color block n’a pas seulement atteint les femmes.<br />
Même les hommes osent désormais aller dans les couleurs orange vif, jaune<br />

d’idées pour sans cesse proposer de nouvelles formes au manteau. Comme il<br />
devient vite indispensable, le vêtement que l’on traîne de partout par excellence,<br />
il se doit de remplir quelques critères, comme ne pas être trop lourd, ni trop<br />
encombrant et surtout posséder une belle ligne, pour assurer une élégance<br />

appeal, the camelia is the focus <strong>of</strong> Chanel’s<br />
new jewellery collection<br />

En 1932, pour sa première et unique collection de joaillerie « Bijoux et Diamants »,<br />
Gabrielle Chanel désirait « couvrir les femmes de constellations ». Un souhait devenu<br />
réalité avec la renaissance de Chanel Joaillerie en 1993, placée sous le signe des<br />
symboles chers à Mademoiselle ; les perles, les diamants, les nœuds, les sautoirs et bien<br />

La cuvée de Dom Pérignon Rosé est créee à partir des meilleures parcelles de vignes de<br />
Pinot Noir et de Chardonnay, dont l’état du sol et l’exposition au soleil présagent une qualité<br />

The famous designer Jean-Paul <strong>Gaultier</strong> reveals<br />
his source <strong>of</strong> inspirations and his key to 35 years <strong>of</strong> success<br />

Jean-Paul <strong>Gaultier</strong> est l’un des créateurs les plus importants de ces dernières décennies.<br />
Du corset de sa grand-mère en passant par les seins coniques de son ourson Nana,<br />
transposés sur Madonna dans les années 90 lors de son Blond Ambition World Tour, il<br />
cultive pop culture, contre-culture, humour et raffinement haute couture. À l’adolescence, le<br />
dessin de mode constitue son unique moyen d’expression. Le couturier s’aperçoit alors qu’il<br />
existe un monde entre la figurine de mode de ses croquis et la réalité d’un vêtement modelé<br />
pour habiller un corps en trois dimensions.<br />
Après avoir frappé à la porte d’Yves Saint Laurent, c’est finalement Pierre Cardin qui<br />
lui ouvre la sienne, trouvant certaines idées intéressantes chez cet apprenti doué…<br />
L’imagination de Jean-Paul <strong>Gaultier</strong> déborde. À la fin des années 70, il se lance en nom<br />
propre. Le rêve peut devenir réalité. La mode est en pleine effervescence et les créateurs de<br />
prêt-à-porter explosent (de Gianni Versace à Thierry Mugler et Azzedine Alaïa). Devenu star,<br />
il explore d’autres disciplines et confronte son talent à la danse contemporaine et au cinéma<br />
avec Pedro Almodóvar, Luc Besson, Marc Caro et Jean-Pierre Jeunet.<br />
Jean-Paul <strong>Gaultier</strong> is no doubt one <strong>of</strong> the most important fashion designers in recent<br />
decades. With his cone-shaped bras, inspired by his grandmother’s corsets and his teddy<br />
bear, Nana, which were sported by Madonna during her Blond Ambition World Tour in<br />
the 1990s, the designer has long cultivated pop culture, counter-culture, humour and the<br />
elegance <strong>of</strong> haute couture. During his adolescence, fashion design became his unique way<br />
<strong>of</strong> self-expression. The designer soon realized that there was a huge disparity between his<br />
sketches <strong>of</strong> fashion models and the way a three-dimensional piece looks on an actual body.<br />
Having been turned down by Yves Saint Laurent, it was eventually Pierre Cardin who<br />
took <strong>Gaultier</strong> on. Cardin, the well-established designer, was fascinated by many <strong>of</strong> his<br />
gifted young apprentice’s ideas. At the end <strong>of</strong> the 1970s, Jean-Paul <strong>Gaultier</strong> launched his<br />
eponymous label. His dream had finally become a reality. Fashion had never been hipper,<br />
thanks to an explosion <strong>of</strong> talented designers onto the scene (from Gianni Versace to Thierry<br />
Mugler, Azzedine Alaïa). Having established himself as fashion’s darling, he began to<br />
explore other fields and began to embrace his passion for contemporary dance and cinema,<br />
collaborating with Pedro Almodóvar, Luc Besson, Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet.<br />

Ses créations sont mises en avant via le prisme des plus grands photographes (Richard<br />
Avedon, David LaChapelle, Mario Testino, Inez van Lamsweerde et Vinoodh Matadin,<br />
Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott,etc.) Jean-Paul <strong>Gaultier</strong> fascine, la presse et le public se<br />
l’arrachent. Une merveilleuse exposition regroupant 35 ans de créations et d’avantgarde<br />
lui est même consacrée actuellement à Montréal ! Entrez dans la légende à<br />

répondre à nos questions.<br />
Comment est née l’idée de devenir couturier ?<br />
C’est au travers du cinéma que j’ai souhaité exercer ce métier. J’ai vu le film Falbalas<br />
de Jacques Becker et j’ai souhaité devenir le personnage de Raymond Rouleau, avec sa<br />
muse, Micheline Presle, une personne très inspirante qui m’a marqué.<br />
Many <strong>of</strong> his works have been captured by some <strong>of</strong> the world’s most famous<br />
photographers (Richard Avedon, David LaChapelle, Mario Testino). Everything that<br />
Jean-Paul <strong>Gaultier</strong> touches seems to turn to gold, and his spellbound press and public<br />
are testament to this. An exhibition bringing together 35 years <strong>of</strong> the designer’s avantgarde<br />
creations has just opened in Montreal. LUXOS sat down with this extraordinary<br />
designer for an interview.<br />
Why did you decide to become a designer?<br />
It was actually my love for the cinema which inspired me to become a designer. I saw a<br />
film called ‘Falbalas’ by Jacques Becker and I decided that I wanted to be just like the<br />
character played by Raymond Rouleau. His muse, played by Micheline Presle, made a<br />
particularly big impression on me.<br />

que vous interprétez souvent dans<br />
vos collections?<br />
J’associe la Parisienne à cette<br />
image de nostalgie et d’élégance<br />
véhiculée par les magazines et les<br />
émissions de télévision de mon<br />
enfance. Dans ma vie, c’est plus<br />
tard que j’ai fait la connaissance<br />
des Parisiennes qui ont influencé<br />
ma mode, Edwige Belmore,<br />
Farida Khelfa… Les Parisiennes<br />
sont celles que je connais le<br />
mieux, mais peut-être n’ai-je pas<br />
encore rencontré ma Parisienne !<br />
How would you define the<br />
‘mythical Parisian woman’ who<br />
you frequently evoke in your<br />
collections?<br />
I associate the Parisian woman<br />
with the image <strong>of</strong> nostalgia<br />
and elegance conveyed by<br />
the magazines and television<br />
programmes <strong>of</strong> my youth. As<br />
I grew older, I started getting<br />
to know many Parisian women<br />
who have greatly influenced<br />
my designs, notably Edwige<br />
Belmore and Farida Khelfa. I<br />
know Parisian women inside out,<br />
but I don’t think I’ve ever met my<br />

Vous avez su instaurer des modèles iconiques dans l’histoire de la mode, comment l’expliquez-vous ?<br />
C’est peut-être dû à la répétition, au fait que je retravaille certain modèle pour chaque collection. Par exemple,<br />
j’ai toujours quelque chose à actualiser par rapport au trench. Il fait partie de ces vêtements qui me sont<br />
emblématiques, comme le corset ou le perfecto. J’ai au moins deux nouvelles idées pour eux chaque saison, ils<br />
représentent peut-être pour moi un attachement particulier.<br />
Après toutes ces années de création que pouvez-vous inventer à nouveau ?<br />
Plein de choses ! Il existe toujours quelque chose à inventer. Je veille à rester observateur parce que je crois<br />
que l’invention n’est pas réelle. Tout dépend de ma sensibilité, de ma faculté à comprendre ce que désirent les<br />
femmes à un moment donné. La création relève du résultat de l’observation.<br />
Pourquoi avoir dit oui au Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal pour une exposition là-bas ?<br />
J’avais la perception des expositions de mode comme étant très belles mais en général réservées aux personnes<br />
mortes. Je me disais donc pourquoi en faire une étant donné que je suis toujours vivant ? Et puis j’ai rencontré,<br />
Nathalie Bondil (Directrice du Musée des Beaux Arts) et Thierry-Maxime Loriot (Commissaire de l’exposition).<br />
Je suis tombé sous leur charme et leur énergie m’a convaincu. L’idée de faire comme si cette exposition était une<br />
collection de mode m’a séduit. Enfin parce que Paris ne m’a rien proposé...<br />
You have established some <strong>of</strong> the most iconic designs in the history <strong>of</strong> fashion. How did you do this?<br />
It could be due to the fact that I <strong>of</strong>ten rework and reinterpret certain pieces in each collection. For example, I<br />
always try to do something new with the trench coat. It’s one <strong>of</strong> those truly iconic pieces, like the corset and the<br />
biker jacket. I have at least two new ideas for each <strong>of</strong> these pieces every season and I absolutely love all <strong>of</strong> them.<br />
After all <strong>of</strong> these years as a designer, it must be quite hard to invent new things?<br />
Not at all! There’s always something new to invent. I have always tried to remain an observer because I think<br />
that invention isn’t real. It all depends on my sensitivity, on my ability to understand what women want at any<br />
given moment. Creation comes as a result <strong>of</strong> observation.<br />
Why did you allow the Montreal Museum <strong>of</strong> Fine Arts to exhibit your work?<br />
I felt that, although very beautiful, most fashion exhibitions are generally dedicated to dead people. So I said to<br />
myself “who cares that I am still alive: let’s do it anyway!” And then I met Nathalie Bondil (Director <strong>of</strong> Beaux<br />
Arts Museum in Montréal) and Thierry-Maxime Loriot (Curator) and I was so overwhelmed by their charm and<br />
energy. I loved the idea <strong>of</strong> organizing the exhibition like a fashion collection. I also chose to do it in Montreal<br />
because there was nothing in the pipeline in Paris at that time.<br />

Rien ne peut être comparé aux fastes dont le Palais Royal, ses triples<br />
galeries et son merveilleux jardin, furent les témoins dans le passé. Si des<br />
périodes de langueur ont succédé parfois aux temps de liesse et de tumulte,<br />
le Palais Royal est redevenu aujourd’hui le temple de la Mode et du bon<br />
goût. LUXOS vous invite à relire ce lieu de promenade et de plaisirs : aussi<br />

Richelieu voulait un palais : il charge en 1629 son architecte Jacques<br />
Lemercier de lui construire un logis royal vers la rue Saint-Honoré. Dans<br />
les premiers chapitres de l’existence du Palais, il faut citer la Fondation de<br />
l’Académie Française en 1635, sa salle de spectacle dont Molière prendra<br />
possession plus tard, le testament de Richelieu qui lègue son palais au roi<br />
Louis XIII, Anne d’Autriche montrant au peuple en colère son fils endormi<br />
(le jeune Louis XIV), la Régence de Philippe d’Orléans qui veut que sa<br />
demeure respire le plaisir, le luxe et la volupté : d’où une liberté de mœurs<br />
dont le lieu conservera longtemps le souvenir et les traces.<br />

Cardinal Richelieu wanted a palace. In 1629 he put his architect, Jacques<br />
Lemercier, in charge <strong>of</strong> building a royal dwelling near Rue Saint Honoré.<br />
When considering the early days <strong>of</strong> the palace’s existence, it is crucial to<br />
mention the following moments in history: the foundation <strong>of</strong> the Académie<br />
Française in 1635, when the writer Molière would take centre stage for<br />
years to come; Richelieu’s will which bequeathed the palace to the King<br />
Louis XIII; Anne <strong>of</strong> Austria showing an angry mob her sleeping son (the<br />
young Louis XIV); the regent Philippe <strong>of</strong> Orléans who wanted his ancestral<br />
home to exude pleasure, luxury and excess – a freedom from morals which<br />
left its mark inside the palace.<br />

A PLACE OF PLEASURES AND DELIGHTS<br />
En 1780, Louis-Philippe-Joseph, fils du duc d’Orléans isole le jardin<br />
en l’entourant des édifices qui forment aujourd’hui les trois côtés<br />
de son enceinte. Trois nouvelles rues reçoivent comme noms, les<br />
titres de ses trois fils : de Valois, de Beaujolais et de Montpensier.<br />
Il fait construire la salle de spectacle qu’occupe maintenant la<br />
Comédie Française mais aussi des boutiques pour les louer aux<br />
marchands, non sans subir les sarcasmes de la cour. Le public<br />
s’empare de cette promenade.<br />
Sous le Consulat, le Palais-Royal est le centre de « l’Europe<br />
civilisée » : magnificence des boutiques, galeries débordant de vie<br />
et de mouvements, restaurateurs passant pour les premiers cuisiniers<br />
d’Europe, cafés déployant un luxe inconnu partout ailleurs.<br />

<strong>of</strong>f the garden by surrounding it with buildings, which today form<br />
the three sides <strong>of</strong> its wall. Thus, three new streets were created<br />
and named after his three sons: de Valois, de Beaujolais and de<br />
Montpensier. He built the auditorium (today home to the Comédie<br />
Française as well as a number <strong>of</strong> boutiques) with the intention<br />
<strong>of</strong> renting them out to tradesmen, although this was not without<br />
heavy criticism from the court. The public fell upon this magnificent<br />
promenade with glee.<br />
Under the Consulate, the Palais-Royal became the centre <strong>of</strong><br />
‘civilized Europe,’ thanks to its glorious boutiques, its lively galleries<br />
and people, its restaurant owners masquerading as the best chefs in<br />
Europe and its cafés, which spread an unknown luxury throughout<br />
the area.<br />

the square outside the building bears the<br />
author’s name. This location is so dear to<br />
the fashion industry, thanks particularly<br />
to Jérôme L’Huillier who staged his<br />

swiftly by Acne, Stella McCartney, Rick<br />

Au pays de la bonne chère, le rituel matinal du cafécroissant<br />
est une véritable institution. Pourtant, cet emblème<br />
des plaisirs gourmands à la française trouve son origine à<br />
Vienne, en Autriche. En 1683, le croissant y fut inventé pour<br />
célébrer la fin du siège de la ville par les Ottomans. La légende<br />
raconte que les boulangers façonnèrent ces douceurs en forme<br />
de croissant (symbole présent sur le drapeau ottoman) après<br />
avoir alerté l’armée autrichienne d’une attaque préparée par les<br />
Turcs en pleine nuit.<br />
Plus tard, vers 1770, c’est la reine Marie-Antoinette, à son<br />
arrivée à Versailles, qui introduisit le croissant à la cour de<br />
France. Longtemps produit de luxe réservé aux élites, la<br />
viennoiserie connut son essor dans les années 1920 et devint<br />
accessible au plus grand nombre.<br />

Le faubourg Saint Honoré est un quartier réputé pour ses grandes<br />
maisons de prêt-à-porter, ses antiquaires, ses galeries d’art et ses tables<br />
gourmandes, à quelques pas des Champs Élysées. Le lieu idéal pour les<br />
amoureux de la mode et de l’art. Suivez le guide.<br />
Nous sommes au croisement de la rue royale. La boutique Gucci ouvre la<br />
rue, donne le ton et la couleur du faubourg. Rénovée en décembre 2010,<br />
toute en lumière naturelle, elle propose à sa clientèle – pour la première<br />
fois en Europe – un service de confection sur mesure dédié à l’un de ses<br />
sacs les plus emblématiques: le New Bamboo. Un peu plus loin, trônent<br />
les deux joyaux du faubourg qui ont largement contribué à faire de ce<br />
périmètre l’un des lieux de shopping les plus prestigieux d’Europe :<br />
Jeanne Lanvin a installé sa maison de couture au n° 22, à la fin du XIXe<br />
siècle. Incontournable ne serait-ce que pour les mises en scènes des<br />
vitrines, faites par Alber Elbaz en personne, qui changent tous les mois.<br />
Monsieur n’est pas oublié puisqu’une boutique au n° 15 lui est dédiée.<br />
L’autre adresse mythique est le n° 24 où un immeuble du XVIIIe siècle,<br />

jewels which have played a huge part in establishing this area as one <strong>of</strong><br />
Europe’s most prestigious shopping destinations. Jeanne Lanvin set up<br />
her couture house at number 22 towards the end <strong>of</strong> the 19 th century. This<br />
boutique is not to be missed, if only for its stunning window displays<br />
which change every month and are designed by Creative Director Alber<br />
Elbaz himself. And at number 15 is the Lanvin menswear boutique. The<br />
other important address is number 24 where, since 1879, this newly<br />
renovated 18 th century building has been home to Hermès, a proverbial<br />
kingdom spanning over 1700 square metres where luxury is preceded<br />

Après s’être rencontrés chez Andrée Putman, Olivier<br />
et Hélène Lempereur, respectivement architecte et<br />
styliste d’intérieur, décident de tenter l’aventure à<br />
deux, avec pour objectif, de toujours proposer des<br />
aménagements raffinés, aux lignes épurées, tout<br />
en restant proches des émotions et des rêves de<br />
leurs clients. Ils ont su ainsi «donner une âme» au<br />
showroom Notify, aux boutiques Pierre Marcolini,<br />
Dyptique, Pierre Hermé, Barbara Rihl… Sans<br />
oublier les commandes privées. Ils partagent leur vie<br />
entre Bruxelles et Paris et possèdent également des<br />
bureaux à New York et au Luxembourg. Toujours<br />
prêts à relever de nouveaux challenges (le dernier<br />
en date : l’ouverture du magasin Look en France en<br />
octobre 2011), ils savent aussi savourer leur temps<br />
libre, en parcourant notamment les galeries d’art et<br />
en dénichant sans cesse de nouvelles adresses.<br />
Le couple a accepté ainsi de partager avec les<br />
lecteurs de LUXOS une journée idéale à Paris,<br />
en dévoilant les endroits qu’ils affectionnent<br />
particulièrement.<br />

<strong>of</strong> the highest quality whilst adhering to their<br />
clients’ specifications made them decide to start<br />
their own business together. The couple have also<br />
designed the Notify showroom as well as Pierre<br />
Marcolini, Dyptique, Pierre Hermé and Barbara Rihl<br />
boutiques to boot. And then there are their private<br />
commissions. The couple spend their time between<br />
Brussels and Paris, with <strong>of</strong>fices in New York and<br />
Luxembourg. Always ready to take on a challenge<br />
(the latest to date will be the opening <strong>of</strong> the new<br />
Look store in France in October 2011), they know<br />
how to make the most <strong>of</strong> their down time. Their<br />
favourite pastimes include perusing art galleries and<br />
scoping out exciting new addresses.<br />
