• The officially recorded total number of <strong>malaria</strong> <strong>cases</strong> during 2002 <strong>is</strong> 590 <strong>cases</strong>.<br />
• All the 590 <strong>cases</strong> are parasitologically confirmed.<br />
• No indigenous <strong>malaria</strong> <strong>cases</strong> are recorded since 1998.<br />
• 6 introduced <strong>malaria</strong> <strong>cases</strong> are recorded inl focus in very remote area in Ibri Wilayat, al-Dhahira region in 2002<br />
(They are included among 590 <strong>cases</strong>).<br />
• Relapsing <strong>cases</strong> are imported internationally P.vivax mainly from Indian subcontinent ( no relapsing <strong>cases</strong> among<br />
introduced ).
