Virtual Remote Control
„It‘s actually quite simple“, says Jim,
„With my company I offer two different
tomers
that want to receive channels
that I can receive for them using my
antennas here in Taiwan. By using multiple
large C-band and Ku-band antennas
I can cover a large number of satellites
and programming providers for these
customers. This helps save the added
cost of installing an antenna at the customers
location. He simply turns his PC
or laptop on and can then tune into the
channels he wants to watch; they are
received by us here and then transmitted
to him via the Internet. We also
serve quite a few customers in countries
like China where there are a lot of
restrictions when it comes to installing
satellite antennas; this type of TV reception
makes for a viable alternative.“
The second option is for those customers
that want to receive TV programming
but which cannot be received by Jim‘s
own antennas. „In this case“, explains
Jim, „we offer these customers the Hava
Platinum HD Box that they would then
take to family or friends back home.
The family or friends would receive the
desired programming and use the Hava
Box to transmit this programming to the
recipient.“
Thanks to a very practical remote
maintenance function Jim can set up,
control and maintain all of the boxes sold
by him around the world. The customer
receives a completely installed product
and can from this point on receive
all of his favorite channels from home
anywhere in the world. Of course a high
speed Internet connection would be
needed.
Naturally, we wanted to see this for
ourselves and test it! Jim gave us access
to his network and off we went: we
were able to receive Japanese, Asian
and American channels here in Europe.
