Dolomiti erano situate vicino all’equatore.
The development of conifers. From 1990 Michael Wachtler discovered a variety of new conifers that so far had
been unknown to science. All of them derive from an 242 to 230 million years ago, during which the Dolomites were situated in
the tropics.
Voltzia unescoensis männl./masch./male weibl./femm./female Baum/albero/tree
Voltzia agordica männl./masch./male weibl./femm./female male cone
Voltzia dolomitica männl./masch./male weibl./femm./female female cone
Voltzia pragsensis Single female bract/Weibl. Zapfenschuppe male pollen
Aethophyllum stipulare männl./masch./male whole plant male cone female cone
Voltzia unescoensis (WACHTLER 2011)
Questa
specie assomigliava superficialmente alle attuali
araucarie.
A strange conifer (New discovery). This species
of conifer superficially resembled today’s
Araucarian-trees.
Voltzia agordica (UNGER 1850)
Dreilappige Konifere. (Neuentdeckung).
Diese Nadelbaumarten zeichneten sich durch ihre
typischen, dreilappige Samenschuppen tragende
Zapfen aus.
Voltzia agordica (UNGER 1850)
Conifera trilobulare. (Nuova scoperta). Tutte
queste conifere erano caratterizzate dai coni con
singole scaglie divise in tre lobuli.
Voltzia agordica (UNGER 1850)
Three-lobed conifer. (New discovery). All
these conifers hold three-lobed seed-bracts.
Voltzia dolomitica (WACHTLER & KONIJ-
NENBURG 2000)
Voltzia of the Dolomites (New discovery).
This primitive species of conifer, first discovered
by Michael Wachtler, was widespread in the
Southern Alps 230 million years ago.
Voltzia pragsensis (WACHTLER & KONIJ-
NENBURG 2000)
Die Vulkaninsel-Voltzie (Neuentdeckung).
Eine jener Koniferen welche die Tropen vor 230
Millionen Jahren besiedelten.
La Voltzia delle isole vulcaniche (Nuova
scoperta). Una delle conifere che popolavano i
mari tropicali 230 milioni di anni fa.
The volcanic island Voltzia (New discovery).
One of the conifers, which populated the tropics
230 million years ago.
Aethophyllum stipulare (BRONGNIART
1828)
Der Strauchnadelbaum. Diese Konifere hatte
buschförmigen Charakter.
La conifera arbustea. Questa conifera era non
più alta di un cescpuglio.
Der shrubby conifer. We have to do it with a
low growing conifer.
