THE CATALOGUE’S CHARACTERISTICS
The following catalogue includes a systematic part and alphabetical indices.
■ The systematic part lists:
– all the books of the Libreria Editrice Vaticana (LEV), distributed
according to languages (Italian, Latin, French, English, Spanish,
Portuguese, German, Polish, other languages) and, within the
same languages, according to the subject matter,
– books of other publishers distributed by the LEV.
■ Alphabetical indices: according to the titles as well as to the authors.
■ Research criteria. Every book contains 2 research criteria:
– the series number: this is formed of a letter, which indicates the
language; of a 2-cypher number, which indicates the series; of a
second 2-3 cypher number, which specifies the book;
– the book’s code: this is the ISBN code, made up of 5 cyphers: it is
recommended that this number be quoted when ordering to avoid
any ambiguities. (The first 5 cyphers of the ISBN code 88-209 are
standard because they indicate the Italian language zone and the
Libreria Editrice Vaticana).
PLEASE NOTE
■ The prices of the present catalogue are updated to the 1st of January
2006.
■ The prices are applicable within Vatican City since VAT is not
included.
■ The books can be bought either from various distributors or booksellers,
or else by correspondence.
■ Payment for acquisitions by correspondence can be effected:
– in advance, crediting the due sum to the postal current account
no. 00774000 (Italy), or by issuing a cheque. In cases of advance
payment, the Libreria Editrice Vaticana assumes the expenses
of delivery within Italy;
– cash on delivery. At the time of delivery, the buyer pays the postman
the respective sum due, plus the delivery charges.
■ The merchandise is sent at the risk of the buyer.
