OBIETTIVI I ANNO<br />
Determinazione del numero, tipo, intensita', cronologia e <strong>di</strong>stribuzione degli eventi esplosivi<br />
registrati nel<strong>la</strong> sequenza vulcanoc<strong>la</strong>stica etnea.<br />
Per poter valutare <strong>la</strong> <strong>per</strong>icolosità delle eruzioni esplosive sono stati trattati in modo<br />
statistico il loro numero nell’unità <strong>di</strong> tempo ed i tipi principali. Dal<strong>la</strong> ricostruzione tephro e<br />
cronostratigrafica è stato ricavato il numero minimo <strong>di</strong> eventi esplosivi avvenuti negli ultimi<br />
12 ka. Dal<strong>la</strong> stu<strong>di</strong>o delle caratteristiche fisiche delle eruzioni sono stati c<strong>la</strong>ssificati i <strong>di</strong>versi<br />
tipi <strong>di</strong> eventi esplosivi (stromboliani, subpliniani, pliniani) che sono stati <strong>di</strong>visi <strong>per</strong> c<strong>la</strong>ssi <strong>di</strong><br />
magnitudo. Da questi dati è stato ottenuto un <strong>di</strong>agramma <strong>di</strong> frequenza delle eruzioni nel<br />
<strong>per</strong>iodo olocenico <strong>per</strong> intervalli temporali <strong>di</strong> 1 ka.<br />
