SINOSSI
Tunisi, 1942. Nour (Olympe Borval) e Myriam (Lizzie Brocheré) sono cresciute insieme; la prima è musulmana,
mentre la seconda è ebrea sefardita. L’occupazione nazista della Tunisia complica non poco la vita a
entrambe. Nour, promessa sposa al cugino Khaled (Najib Oudghiri) di cui è innamorata, deve rimandare il
matrimonio dal momento che gli avvenimenti impediscono al fidanzato di trovare un lavoro. La famiglia di
Myriam, costretta dalle leggi razziali a pagare multe esorbitanti, spinge invece la ragazza verso un matrimonio
d’interesse con un facoltoso medico (Simon Abkarian), molto più vecchio di lei. E mentre la propaganda
nazista nei confronti della popolazione si fa sempre più pesante, le due ragazze capiscono di avere un
disperato bisogno del sostegno reciproco per far fronte ai propri drammi personali.
SYNOPSIS
Tunis, 1942. Nour (Olympe Borval) and Myriam (Lizzie Brocheré) grew up together; the first is Muslim,
the latter is a sephardic Jew. The Nazi invasion of Tunisia complicates their lives. Nour, betrothed to her
cousin (Najib Oudghiri), with whom she is in love, must postpone her marriage since her fiancée cannot
find a job. Myriam’s family, forced to pay unreasonable taxes because of the racial laws, compels the
girl to marry a wealthy doctor (Simon Abkarian), much older than she is. And while the Nazi propaganda
intensifies, the two girls come to realize they need each other’s support to face their daily troubles.
