The following pages detail the performance of Rubbermaid plastics when exposed to chemicals. The first table<br />
generalizes performance with respect to broad chemical families. The remaining tables detail recommendations for<br />
use in exposure to specific chemicals.<br />
Explanation of ratings<br />
E EXCELLENT – The plastic was unaffected in any way for the duration of the test.<br />
G GOOD – A very slight clouding or discoloration took place. Expected life – months to years.<br />
F FAIR – Moderate effect. Slight etching, some discoloration, possibly some dimensional changes or<br />
weight change. Expected life – weeks to months.<br />
P POOR – Considerable change. Expected life – days.<br />
N NOT RECOMMENDED – Severe attack. Plastic became soft in a few hours, and was unusable<br />
within a few days or by end of test.<br />
