Troubleshooting
Messages
Follow the instructions below if a message appears in the display.
Message Meaning Remedy
AVLS (blinks)
CANNOT EXECUTE
The volume level exceeds the
rated value while
“AVLS(Volume Limit)” is
enabled.
You are trying to preset/
delete broadcast stations
while the player is not in the
FM function.
You are trying to change the
equalizer setting while the
Bass function is activated.
Turn the volume down or
disable “AVLS(Volume Limit)”
( page 46).
Change the function to
“FM”, and then preset/delete
broadcast stations.
Disable the Bass function,
and then change the
equalizer setting.
CHARGING The battery is being charged. This is not an error. Wait until
the battery is charged fully.
However, you can use the
player with the battery not
charged fully.
DRM ERROR
EXPIRED
FILE ERROR
HOLD
An unauthorized distribution
file is detected for copyright
protection.
You are trying to play a song
that has an expiration/
playback time restriction.
The file cannot be read.
The file is not normal.
The player cannot play
certain files because of
incompatible formats.
Transferring has been
interrupted.
The player cannot be operated
because the HOLD switch is
set to the HOLD position.
Transfer the normal audio file
back to the computer and
then format the built-in flash
memory.
Update the license
information of songs using
the software used for transfer.
If the song which cannot be
played is unnecessary, you can
delete it from the built-in
flash memory.
Transfer the normal audio

To operate the player, slide the
HOLD switch to the opposite
position ( page 7).
LOW BATTERY The battery is low. Charge the battery ( page
14).
