Ciao a tutti and welcome back to Milano Moda Donna!
We’re pleased to offer you once again our Milan Fashion Week
Survival’s Guide—a light-hearted, insider’s look at all that our city
and this exciting week has to offer. Here you’ll find tips from Milanese
locals on the best places to eat, drink and shop, as well as highlights
on fashion week and news in Milan.
Since taking over as President of the Camera Nazionale dell Moda in
2015, I’ve set forth four main areas on which to focus - sustainability,
young talent, digitalization, and hospitality—each of which are
materializing in new ways this season.
Firstly we’re extremely honored to welcome Matteo Renzi, our
esteemed Prime Minister, at a lunch in honor of the opening of fashion
week. It will be an event during which the Italian fashion and the
Institutions will get together to celebrate one of the branch that better
represents creativity, tradition, avant-garde and one of the most solid
and significant economic asset of our country.
As regards to sustainability, together with a permanent working
group that involves over 10 important brands, we have developed a
strategic program to achieve in 4 years and we are now working on
the use of chemical substances issue. In terms of new talents, we are
supporting young labels in a myriad of new ways, including Fashion
Lab, a new UniCredit-sponsored fashion mentoring program for over
19 new brands (see pages 4 for more details on our young talents).
As for hospitality, well, it’s our main mission to warmly host you and
hopefully entertain you a bit along the way. Enjoy reading this ironic
guide! See you around the shows, the presentations and all the
exciting events of Fashion Week!
Kind Regards,
Carlo Capasa
President of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana
