Annotation number in superscript. "10" means:<br />

Annual export quotas for live specimens and hunting trophies are granted<br />

as follows: Botswana: 5; Namibia: 150; Zimbabwe: 50. The trade in such<br />

specimens is subject to the provisions of Article III of the Convention.<br />

English common names<br />

Adopted scientific name<br />

Spanish common names<br />

French common name<br />

Adopted scientific name. "spp." means that all<br />

species included in the Hoodia genus are covered.<br />

CITES Appendix number<br />

Where available, English, Spanish and French common names are provided.<br />

Format The common name, either English (E), Spanish (S) or French (F), is followed by the<br />

corresponding scientific name. There is only one entry for each common name, e.g. there is<br />

an entry for 'Eagle, Golden' but not for 'Golden Eagle'.<br />

Examples – Parrots (E): PSITTACIFORMES spp.<br />

Family<br />

– Orchids, slipper (E): Paphiopedilum spp. / Phragmipedium spp.<br />

– Hummingbird, Emerald-chinned (E): Abeillia abeillei<br />

In the examples above, to find the full information corresponding to 'parrots', 'slipper<br />

orchids' or 'emerald-chinned hummingbird', one has to look up 'PSITTACIFORMES spp.',<br />

'Paphiopedilum spp.' and 'Phragmipedium spp.' (the common name applies to two genera),<br />

and 'Abeillia abeillei', respectively.<br />
