Probably a sentiment similar to this
inspired Pekka Koskenkylä, in 1966, to
launch Nautor's Swan, today the leading
manufacturer of luxury and speed boats

in the world, crossing seas around the
globe and holding a special place in the
hearts of all sailors.
Nautor's Swan began in a land far , far
away from what is luxury and excess, in
a place with a strong connection to navigation
and, above all, with a great ability
and desire to excel.
The Scandinavian culture has always
tried to combine traditional craftsmanship
with the most advanced technolo-
gies Stella! and Nautor's Swan is no exception.
Both the older models, designed by
Sparkman & Stephens, and the modern
ones designed by German Frers, have
elevated Nautor’s Swan from ordinary to
exemplary in terms of beauty, strength,
elegance and unparalleled navigability.
The first Swan '36' came out in the
spring of 1967, with British sailor Dave
Johnson as the yacht’s captain, prevailing
with remarkable success in tournaments
around the British Isles. Following
excellent results in the races, immedia-
tely a positive response arose, which appointed
Nautor's Swan as the builder of
high performance cruise boats, resulting
in an increase in sales and a growing recognition
and success for subsequent
models.
In 1998, Nautor's Swan became an Italian
company following its acquisition,
headed by Leonardo Ferragamo. After
difficult times - as the fire in 1969 that seriously
damaged the shipyard - and
'changing courses' - as with the arrival
of Frers in 1979 - Nautor's Swan entered,
once again, in a new dimension.
Throughout its evolution, what has remained
constant is the quality and durability
we have come to expect from a
Swan. Considering that about two thousand
models have been produced by
Nautor, almost all are still cruising seas
around the world.
The quality of a Swan is striking at first
glance, even from the pier you can see
that among all the boats moored one
seems to float better than others.
