“Quando Foscarini mi chiese di interpretare le location<br />
per le nuove <strong>Birdie</strong>, ne nacque la sollecitazione di inserire<br />
le lampade in vecchi film. Ed eccole, come frammenti di<br />
film, sfilano in successione immagini dall’archivio storico<br />
Bridgeman Images. Trovare la chiave per inserire le<br />
lampade? Un’intuizione! Ho appoggiato semplicemente sulla<br />
stampa in bianco e nero una diapositiva 6x6, con all’interno lo<br />
scatto della <strong>Birdie</strong>. Magicamente, in quel piccolo quadrato,<br />
la luce illumina la scena, i colori si fanno spazio tra i grigi,<br />
l’alchimia tra analogico e digitale è compiuta. Ogni immagine<br />
è un film, ogni immagine ci fa volare altrove. Buona visione!”<br />
“When Foscarini asked me to interpret the locations for the<br />
new <strong>Birdie</strong> lamps, the idea arose of inserting the products<br />
in old films. And there they are, like snippets of movies, a<br />
parade of images from the historical archives of Bridgeman<br />
Images. How to find the key to insert the lamps? It’s a matter<br />
of intuition! I simply placed a 6x6 slide containing the shot<br />
of <strong>Birdie</strong> on the black+white print. As if by magic, in that<br />
little square light fills the scene, the colours find their way<br />
amidst the greys, the alchemy between analogue and digital<br />
suddenly happens. Every image is a film, every image makes<br />
us fly, arriving elsewhere. Happy viewing!”<br />
