Jeanette Gallant -

Jeanette Gallant - Jeanette Gallant - Dr. Jeanette Gallant is a Canadian musician with over 25 years of diverse experience as a voice teacher, music lecturer, composer, conductor, performer, and administrator in Canada, S.E. Asia, and the United Kingdom. Jeanette has a doctorate from the University of Oxford, and she has held positions at the University of Reading (UK), Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts (HKAPA), Red Deer College (AB, Canada), Havergal College (ON, Canada), the University of Windsor (ON, Canada), and various Oxford Colleges (UK). An accomplished ethnomusicologist, her speciality is folksong and her most recent publication can be found in the Yale Journal of Music and Religion. Jeanette has created various research-based cross-cultural community engagement choral projects which have garnered her invitations to talk at various universities and cultural institutions. As a vocal pedagogue, she focuses on vocal technique for choirs, vocal physiology, teacher-training, and the rehabilitation of damaged voices using vocal massage and other embodied vocal techniques.
