The <strong>seminar</strong> is aimed at providing Quantity Surveyors with apractical approach to CIPAA by emphasizing on the implications of pertinent clauses and the dos and don’ts whenyou are involved in a CIPAA payment dispute.Mr Alan StewartSPEAKERS:Alan Stewart is a legally qualified (LLM) CharteredManagement Surveyor and Chartered Quantity Surveyor and isManaging Director, Sweett Dispute Resolution, part of the SweettGroup PLC a global business with offices covering Asia Pacific,Middle East, North Africa, UK and Europe and partnerships thatextent in North America.With over 30 years industry experience, Alan has been anaccredited UK Adjudicator since the inception of statutoryadjudication in 1998. As a practicing Adjudicator Alan has beeninvolved in close to 100 adjudications either as Adjudicator or asParty Representative. Alan is also a practicing internationalArbitrator or as Party Representative. Alan is also a practicinginternational Arbitrator and is a committee member of the Society ofConstruction Law (Gulf).Sr Amran Bin Mohd MajidAmran bin Mohd Majid graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) QuantitySurveying from Liverpool Polytechnic, United Kingdom. He then satand passed the professional examination of Test in ProfessionalCompetence (TPC) jointly organized by the Board of QuantitySurveyors Malaysia and the Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (ISM).He was duly admitted as a Registered Quantity Surveyors (Reg.Q.S.) as well as a Member of ISM (MISM) [where he was laterelected as a Fellow of the ISM (FISM)].He then pursued his studies in the field of law, part time, wherehe managed to graduate with a B. Jurisprudence [External] (ExternalLaw Degree) from University of Malaya. He also sat and passed theCertificate in Legal Practice (CLP) examinations.He later pursued his post graduate studies in the field of projectmanagement, part time, where he managed to graduate with a M.Sc.Project Management from University Science Malaysia, PulauPinang. He is also a member of the Malaysia Institute ofManagement (MIM).He was previously attached with the Contract and QuantitySurveying Division, PWD Perak.
