More details inthis newsletter.Spring Racing Spectacular November 10th: A Date to mark in your DiaryParent Club is preparing a fundraising event for parents at Sandy by the Bay from7.<strong>30</strong>pm to 11.<strong>30</strong>pm. The evening will include silent and live auctions, spinning wheelprizes, race sweeps and possibly some other racing related entertainment. Moreinformation will be in next week’s Stop Press.Year 4 Performance NightOn Tuesday evening family and friends were entertained by their year 4 children at thePerformance night. All students participated in drama skits and sang as part of theevening. Well done to all students on their enthusiastic and lively contributions on thenight. Thank you to Mrs Rothberg and the Year 4 teachers - Ms McManus, Miss Mason,Miss Cooper and Mr Anstee for helping the children prepare for the big night. We lookforward to the Year 6 Musical - ‘Seussical’ on the 12 th and 13 th September.Students arriving at school earlySome students are, at times, dropped off at school as early as 8.15am. The yard issupervised from 8.45 onwards. We have recently negotiated with Before <strong>School</strong> Care toadjust their start time to 7.00am to assist families who have regular or unexpected earlystarts to their day. To ensure the children are supervised and safe we ask parents tocontact Before <strong>School</strong> Care to see how the service can accommodate families in need ofregular or occasional care in the morning.Whole <strong>School</strong> Working Bee Sunday September 9thWe are hoping for sunny skies on Sunday September 9th.Below is a list of the maintenance we hope to do and we ask that parents bring alongtheir own tools and equipment, gloves, gardening bags etc on the day. We will end themorning with a sausage sizzle and a cuppa.Jobs for the day:Plaster repairs to the hall wall, sweeping, raking over the mulch beneath the playgroundequipment, clean drinking troughs, make safe the sleepers in the kitchen garden, replacepavers on low brick wall in Dalgetty Rd, tidy around the bin enclosure and attachscreening, remove the old table outside the prep rooms, secure three bench seats in theplayground, clearing cobwebs and dust from external windows, sweeping aroundsandpits, clear drains and pits, removal and replacement of mulch in the corral, secure aplinth to the library wall. If sufficient helpers arrive we will also oil the playgroundequipment and paint the front of the stage in the hall.All families will receive a flyer today.Statewide Stopwork September 5As mentioned in Stop Press on <strong>August</strong> 16th there will be a state wide stopwork byteachers and now also, Education Support (Office) staff, next Wednesday September5th. The Year 5 camp to Weekaway will not be affected by the Stopwork, howeverother classes will be affected.Today all students will receive a note describing arrangements for the stopwork andparents are asked to let us know by 9.00am Tuesday 4th if their child/children will beattending school on the day.
